Why not stick to really card made from paper? I returned to this kind of greeting cards for birthdays and christmas and it was very well received. No need to do everything online...

Wow, so many replies. It's quite a useful community :)

There's a firefox plugin for this - via greasemonkey.  It's called textarea backup.  It has worked very well for me.   I hope this is helpful.

Thanks, I will try this one. Still it seems like a little hack. From the comments the app its under suspicion to clutter about:config, where tests are stored but not always deleted.

Coding Snack Guidelines / IDEA: copy last text field inside a browser
« on: January 17, 2008, 06:13 PM »
Well, complicated heading, I suppose.

I am thinking of a workaround for a big web annoyance: having just finished entering a larger text into a web form (e.g. the body of an email or an entry in a forum) than hitting the right button, but having lost connection or the session, or hitting the wrong button and leaving the current page -> your entry is lost.

I usually do Ctrl-A Ctrl-C to have a backup of my entry before I continue navigating, but I think that could be done automatically: copying the contents of the text field having the last focus. Maybe this is an idea for a Firefox plugin?

Point Motivator / Re: Suggestions

sorry i didn't reply to this earlier.
both of those ideas are already on my todo list, so we must think alike.

No problem because to the delay. After all, we all have another life off-line, haven't we?

Nice to hear, you are thinking in the same direction... The app was reminding me of a PalmOS app called 'Universal Tracking System', http://www.utracksys.com/, which is a great deal more generic, but I used it for stuff, I will possibly be doing with Point Motivator.

Living Room / Re: How do you tag (or even organize) your files?
« on: January 17, 2008, 05:55 PM »
I am currently in the process of comparing TaggTool and tag2find (will take me the at least the weekend) and just ran across a blog entry at the tag2find web site: The companies funding has ceased!

This is the main reason, why development did not advance the last weeks (or month). They currently are evaluating to go open source, which might get very interesting. (And might also get them ahead of TaggToll, which based on the feature list is currently my first choice).
