I hated how my secondary screen turns black when on the logon screen, and I found I was not the only one.

I found a not-so-hacky way of doing it, and it definitely does the trick.

The question is... Is it worth turning it into an application (I'd need to make separate x64 and x32 versions)?

As many of you know, our original intention was to maintain .NET Reflector as a free tool. But, after two-and-a-half years of providing it without charge, we realized that we could not make the free model work. We know that this will cause pain for some people in the .NET community, and we apologize for the change in policy.

Basically, .NET reflector 7 will become payware, $35. There's a catch, tho. When that version is released, the freeware version will stop working!

A free version will be available for download until the release of Version 7, scheduled for early March. The free version will continue working until May 30, 2011.

They're giving users a forum to bitch in give them their opininion, but there are complaints about deleted comments.

pins rocketdock to desktop so it doesn't get hidden when you press Win+D

Installation instructions: copy to any folder, run it. You might want to add a shortcut to startup. This application waits for the RocketDock window to be created, then quits. This app doesn't run constantly in the background.
Make sure rocketdock's layering is set to NORMAL

Hey codies, I need your help.

I need to copy a file that's constantly "locked" by the application that's using it, WHILE it's using it. I tried patching the app to pass ShareMode = FILE_SHARE_READ|FILE_SHARE_WRITE on every call to CreateFile, but it doesn't work.

Any ideas that do NOT involve VSS?

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: the patch worked, *I* wasn't closing the fucking file when I had to. I deserve to be shot.

Description
Yup! I did it again! I managed to totally screw my NANY release and am putting up a different app.
This is a small autohotkey app that lets you map your typical 10-button joypad (think dualshock clone) to keyboard keys.
Nothing too fancy, but if you open the thing up you'll see it's pretty easy to solder buttons.
I used to use this when doing kiosks (is far easier than mapping a keyboard).

Features
Maps joystick buttons to keyboard presses.

A GUI, a non-fixed number of buttons.

Edit the ini in your favourite text editor, run the exe.

Well... This is a small tool that lets you pick your own screen resolutions for The Sims.
It's is a generic patch, meaning it should work for all versions of the game.

This patch requires a working NO-CD crack.

There's a good guide at the Widescreen Gaming Forum, on which this tool is loosely based. That guide also explains the annoyances you get when you mess with the game's resolution.

I was about to test-drive PCDJ Dex, and was presented with this abusive EULA:

5. Installation. The Wrapped Title can only be installed once on the User's computer, and hard drive failure, or installation on a new computer, may render the Wrapped Title unusable. In such an event, the User must phone the Softwrap toll free number and show proof of purchase via a transaction number to unwrap the Title for further use or alternatively the User may show proof of purchase online via the Softwrap wizards and transaction number in order to unwrap the Title for further use. This will only be done once for the transfer to a new computer or disk, and thereafter the licence must be re-purchased.

SAY WHAT?

Sorry guys, but I won't spend $200 in software I won't be able to reinstall!

They also block you out of a site if you use ad-blocking software or have JS disabled.

Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Contamination Is Reaching Epidemic Proportions!

Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage in the midwest, and recently California.

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:

• as an industrial solvent and coolant.
  
• in nuclear power plants.
  
• in the production of styrofoam.
  
• as a fire retardant.
  
• in many forms of cruel animal research.
  
• in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
  
• as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

Companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer!

The American government has refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its "importance to the economic health of this nation." In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. I can't really name them, but if you're protecting your software with some dongles developed in Argentina, and they look like this:

your software is not protected AT ALL!
(40 usd a piece + 60 usd for the SDK)

Software Protection System® has two methods to protect your programs: 'automatic'and 'Manual Protection'. Manual Protection involves modifying the source code using an API (Application Programming Interface), by inserting function calls to a DLL (Dynamic Link Library) to perform the protection process. On the other hand, the automatic protection does not need to make changes in your source code because it directly protects the executable (exe or dll) adding 'anti-hacking' and 'anti-debugging' routines. Furthermore, the protected application is encrypted to prevent 'reverse engineering'. All this influences your product is protected by an impenetrable fortress for hackers avoiding loss of revenue due to piracy. You can use one or both of the two modes of protection, if you prefer, thereby increasing the security of your system at maximum.

The 'challenge response' API feature is 100% software based, and the physical key is not involved at all.

If you use the 'automated protector', fing up the dongle is a trivial task [not much harder than unpacking UPX]. BUT, of course, it has 'an impenetrable fortress for hackers', because it adds ''anti-hacking' and 'anti-debugging' routines' and 'is encrypted to prevent 'reverse engineering''.

A "please don't copy me" tag on the CD's sleeve would be more cost-effective.

Thank you for trying out Teddy. I hope you have as much fun playing with it as I did making it.

Instructions

• Bash the keyboard.
• Press Ctrl+«Numpad0-9» to change samplebanks.
• Doubleclick on the app's top banner to toggle toddler mode: the app goes fullscreen and can't be closed / switch to other windows.
• Teddy will load samples in WAV / OGG / MP3 formats (place in SAMPLES\? subdir)

What's new in v2.1?

• You can switch soundbanks by clicking using the dedicated button, or by using the 0-9 keys.
• Teddy can now be played using the mouse!
• Better multi soundbank support.
• A million and one bugfixes.

I made a backup copy of my (legit) copy of Crash Bash, and when decided to play it on PSXfin (someone was watching TV, heh) I was greeted with this nice screen.

Anyone minds decrypting the text?
