Why can we not have an explicit statement about 1Password being a subscription-only service? — 1Password Support Community
https://1password.community/discussion/comment/601917/#Comment_601917

  • The next generation of 1Password apps will take full advantage of 1Password.com (including .ca🇨🇦 & .eu🇪🇺) and as such will require a subscription to use 🔐
  • Those with a standalone license can trade in their license for a special discount on a new 1Password membership 🙌🏼
  • Gift cards are available for those who don’t have a credit card or prefer non-recurring payments ✌️

Living Room / Humble Ebook Bundle II with Little Brother!

Humble Ebook Bundle II with Little Brother!

It's time for another Humble Ebook Bundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/)! Once again, I was honored to serve as
volunteer curator of the Humble Ebook Bundle, a project from the Humble Indie Bundle people who've made Internet history by bundling
together awesome, DRM-free media and letting you name your price for it. We did the first Humble Ebook Bundle last fall (with my novel
Pirate Cinema) and made over $1.25 million in two weeks (!). The new Ebook Bundle is even cooler. Here's the lineup:

  • The Last Unicorn (deluxe edition), by Peter Beagle
  • Just a Geek, by Wil Wheaton
  • Little Brother, by Cory Doctorow
  • Boneshaker, by Cherie Priest
  • Spin, by Robert Charles Wilson
  • Shards of Honor, by Lois McMaster Bujold

As with all the bundles, there is a secret stash of releases in the wings for week two; if your payment is higher than the average at the
time you make it, you get them for free (and they are sweet!). Otherwise, you can always get them by topping up your payment. And as
always, there's charities involved -- you can earmark some or all of your payment for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, Child's Play, and
the Science Fiction Writers of America Emergency Medical Fund.

Living Room / Can DDR2-PC6400 RAM replace DDR2-PC5300 RAM?
« on: December 12, 2012, 01:16 AM »
I've got to use an aging workstation (Intel® Pentium® Processor E2140 desktop) at work. I would like to add more RAM (currently 1GB DDR2 PC5300 333MHz).

My question is: Can DDR2 PC6400 RAM replace or be combined with DR2 PC5300 RAM?

Thank you.  :)

German lab downgrades Redmond after zero-day detection rates slide

Another security software testing organisation, Virus Bulletin, says Security Essentials’ performance is sufficient to justify its VB100 rating, which can only be attained by software that “prove[ s] it can detect 100% of malware samples listed as 'In the Wild' by the WildList Organization” without generating any false positives.
