LaunchBar Commander / Ctrl+Alt+Shift+L doesn't work?
« on: November 04, 2022, 11:15 PM »
LBC's Help section on Runtime Tips and Tricks it states "Hit Ctrl+Alt+Shift+L to bring the options dialog up even if launchbars are somehow hidden offscreen -- useful for recovering from weird monitor changes that hide launchbars." Unfortunately this doesn't work.

LaunchBar Commander / Open containing folder - doesn't work
« on: November 01, 2022, 06:00 AM »
I added a folder in LBC and it has many subdirectories and files in it. By experimentation I understand that some context menu actions on files inside this node, for example, Delete, Rename do not work because LBC thinks that I'm about to delete etc. the node, not the files themselves. Fair enough. However, what I also cannot do is to use the "Open containing folder" context menu entry when I highlight a file inside this node. I think it has to do with having spaces in the directory name.

To bypass the above minor irritations is the fact that I can actually use the "Open in Directory Opus" context menu item.

LaunchBar Commander / A problem with mouse and context menus
« on: October 24, 2022, 02:00 PM »
I started setting up LaunchBar Commander which I used to use some time ago, but then I changed to something else.

I'm facing an irritating problem with my mouse and the program context menu. It can be looked at from three different aspects as follows:

On a dock bar that's located on the desktop the right click context menu appears but then disappears before I have a chance to select any item on it. After many trials I found that a solution is to right click for the menu and immediately move the mouse cursor away from it. Then I may move it on the menu and make a selection. It seems to me that moving the cursor immediately on the menu makes it disappear.

On a dock bar that is docked on the side of the desktop the above solution doesn't work. The context menu disappears when I move the cursor on it.

In the tray area of the Taskbar the context menu behaves as the second case above. That is, it disappears when I move the cursor on it.

If instead of moving the mouse cursor on the context menu I use the keyboard arrow keys, the context menu does not disappear and I can make a choice using the keyboard.

Based on my testing so far which is not very extensive, I think that the problem is restricted to the program context menu.

I'm running Windows 11 version 22H2.

Find And Run Robot / Open only one file manager window
« on: October 20, 2022, 11:25 AM »
Is there a way to open a folder (or go to a file) after search, but not in a new instance of my file manager? I use Directory Opus on Windows 11 v. 22H2. With my current settings (default after installation of FARR) when I press on a search result a new instance of Directory Opus is started.

Screenshot Captor / Problem with right click menu navigation
« on: November 02, 2021, 02:23 AM »
When I right click the tray icon the menu of items pops up. However, as soon as I start moving my mouse over the list of items the whole menu disappears.
I'm running Windows 11.

EDIT: The problem was not observed using a Local Administrator account. It happens with a Standard User account.
I'll try deleting and reinstalling the program (portable edition).

EDIT 2: I'm 99% sure that the incompatibility has to do with an other specific program. I'll investigate.

I am testing out LaunchBar Commander after having used FARR for quite some time. I am trying to see how I could run a program in LBC as Administrator. This option is available with FARR, but I couldn't find anything equivalent in LBC.

Thank you for this fantastic application.

Is it possible to install the QuotesDaddy.com online quote fetcher book addon manually, that is without having to run a setup.exe program?

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Two problems with Hamnotes
« on: February 25, 2013, 12:14 AM »
When trying to use hamNotes with FARR version 2.206.01 there are two problems:

1. I cannot get any of the commands to work, for example "hnote /a", "hnote /k", "hnote /pref" etc. As soon as I enter them a search begins for "hnote" on one of the USB drives on my PC. The only entry that works is "hnote\s" which brings up the Command Center infomation.

2. I cannot change the path to the default hamNotes save directory.

I would greatly appreciate any help with these problems.
