Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Desktop System Specs Info
« on: November 21, 2006, 10:01 PM »
Aite i'm talking about something like this

Basically a little tool that when run will sit in the tray & provide realtime info on customisable info on your system which you can place where you want.

These images are taken from Bginfo ~ microsofts very old suggestion of a tool to do this - http://www.microsoft...tilities/BgInfo.mspx

I know theres a few out there like samurize but really they are like entire programs & just consume too much memory. Just thinking of something simple along the lines of the first picture above, simple straightforward. Refreshed every say 5 minutes? or configurable.

Let me know if this has been done/suggested before/a better one exists anyway.

Cheers!

Relatively simple concept. I had a feeling it had already been suggested but a search for highlight turned up nothing :(

Basically a tool which when you run, everytime you view a folder in windows, the background colours of filenames are adjusted if they have been created recently.

Maybe if the creator was really keen they could make it customisable but as an example.

File created today: Green Background Colour for file name text
Yesterday: Yellow
past yesterday, within 7 days: Orange

May not seem useful to some but hey sometimes it's handy to find out files you've recently downloaded & see whats new etc

I checkout heaps of comic strips & cartoons with opera browser & sometimes firefox browser. I like to save them & come back have a laugh later.

It'd be cool if there was a little extension which when I went right click -> save image as, that i could type a name ie cartoon1 or 01. And hit save, and if cartoon1.jpg already existed in that folder, for the program to auto change to name saved to as cartoon1a.

So you could just go through & find the comics you click and just type the name and it would auto append an a - Z on the end if the filename already existed. ie. cartoon1.jpg, then cartoon1a.jpg then cartoon1b.jpg

:)

Just wondering if skrommel / someone else is keen to modify skrommels clip step? https://www.donation...ndex.php?topic=409.0

It'd be great if a function could be added in so that if you copy an image or something, it actually copies. With clip step on, image copying etc doesn't work just text. Otherwise clipstep is great!!!

Well basically some of ya's may or may not know that mp3 ID3 tag can store lyrics for songs too. I'm wondering if anyone can create a program that you specify a directory of mp3s and it reads each mp3 one by one getting the Artist & Title from ID3 tag and then searching a site/ a few sites like http://www.elyricsworld.com/ or various others and just downloading the lyrics for that song if any matches are found and yeah just adding that to the ID3 tag of the song.

Would be pretty cool cause then when you're playing your songs with programs like mediaplayer or winamp you can use a plugin / built in and view the lyrics of the song too.

Sure beats finding the lyrics for all the songs in your library one by one  :-\

Anyway to set specific folders into certain groups.

Then have some sorta easy access way to select the group you want to search from before searching? Like maybe a drop down box to the right of the search box where you pick the group based on your list of groups then search?

Would this not be a fine addon to FARR????????????  :-*
