Find And Run Robot / Custom Document Opener
« on: November 12, 2012, 10:56 PM »
Is there any way to specify that the location of the Custom Document Opener is on the same portable drive as FARR?

Since I'm running FARR portably from a flash drive, to make use of the document opener, I have that on the flash drive as well... but I can't find a way to specify its location.

I tried using %APPDRIVE%\<PATH TO DOCUMENT OPENER> but that didn't work - FARR complains that it couldn't be found.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Find And Run Robot / FARR Freezes on Second Launch
« on: December 22, 2009, 11:15 AM »
The problem I accidentally reported here (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=20503.msg187945#msg187945) has reappeared.  FARR appears ok on the first launch (after I hit Alt+Space, my launch string), but the second time I hit it the program freezes.  I don't have to hit anything other than Alt+Space and the freeze happens as soon as the window appears, before any history is displayed.  So I kill the process, re-start FARR, and it will happen again (always on the second launch) indefinitely until I reboot.

The first time it happened I thought it was an isolated incident, but it seems to be happening on maybe on every 4th or 5th time I start my computer (so seemingly randomly, but repeatedly).  Usually a reboot will fix it - but sometimes it takes two.

Win7 64-bit, FARR 2.80.02.  When this first happened, I disabled all of my plug-ins one by one until there were none left, but it didn't help.

Is there any information I can provide that would help pinpoint the issue?

Thanks!

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Request - Ubiquity Plugin for FARR?
« on: January 11, 2009, 02:10 PM »
I searched for Ubiquity, but didn't see this asked anywhere else - hope this isn't a duplicate...

I was reading a post on lifehacker.com today regarding Firefox's TabHunter extension and someone mentioned that Ubiquity would eventually provide the same functionality.  This got me to thinking, it looks like there are a lot of similar cool things that Ubiquity will eventually be able to do, but I don't want a separate launcher just for my browser - I love FARR farr too much!

Does anybody have any idea whether it will be possible to create a Ubiquity plugin, so you could use Ubiquity entirely from within FARR?

Hi all,

Perhaps this is more of a general-case regex problem than an FARR problem, but since I'm trying to use it to make FARR work better, I'm hoping someone here might offer some helpful advice...

I have an alias, let's call it "test", and I want to *optionally* pass one or more parameters to it, separated with a space.
-- If I knew there was always going to be one parameter, I might use ^test (.*)
-- If I want that parameter to be optional, I've found that ^test ?(.*)? seems to work just fine
-- But how can I specify multiple optional parameters?

The alias will run a batch file that will handle the optional input.     (batchfile.bat $$1 $$2 $$3)

I've visited numerous sites over the last couple of weeks that explain how to create/use regular expressions, and I've tried all sorts of combinations, but I've yet to find a solution.

Thanks in advance!

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Locate32 Plugin (and FARR) Search Question
« on: December 15, 2008, 01:46 PM »
Hi,

I'm curious if there is a way to search my harddrive using the Locate32 plugin for FARR (and just via FARR itself) for a particular file.

The file I'm searching for has "exam" in the title, but when I search for "exam" I get lots of files that have "example" in their name (so many, I can't find what I'm looking for).

Is there any way to narrow the list accordingly?  Using Locate32 directly, I can search for "exam -example" and it narrows the list down to what I'm looking for, but I can't find a way to do the same thing with either FARR or the Locate32 plugin for FARR.     Probably a simple answer, but I'm missing a beat somewhere.

Thanks in advance!
