Relationship btwn. Reviewer and Product REVIEWER: I am the author of the game.

I have put together a small online open-source piano game. You connect an electric piano to your computer, install Jazz plugin to make Google Chrome communicate with the piano and then you start playing. I use it almost on every-day basis and I must say that I am very happy about it. It really helps me to play songs that I like in an easy manner!

I have prepared three small videos about the game. The first video shows the game in action. The second video gives a brief overview of the game. The third video shows how to change default parameters of the game.

PS: Don’t laugh :D. I know that the videos are VERY amateurish ;).

How to change game parameters.

Here is a sample link which loads songs from my dropbox public folder.

Who is this app designed for:

Musicope is for anybody who would like to play a piano in an easy manner.

The Good

Musicope helps in playing a piano quickly and without the need to learn notes. It is an online game and it is open source! This means that you can very easily integrate it into your blog or modify it to your needs.

The needs improvement section

The game is in its alpha phase. I have used it only together with my piano Yamaha PSR423. The game surely has many bugs and lacks plenty of features :). As for now, I am the only developer. More developers and testers are welcome to make the game better!

Why I think you should use this product

This game helps you to play the piano in a very easy manner. No need to learn notes. The game is free and open-source!

How does it compare to similar apps

There is Synthesia which is an offline paid alternative. There is also PianoCrumbs which is online and very limited with a lot of adds. This game is open source and free. It lack features that Synthesia has, but since it is open source, nothing restricts you to implement the features that you like!

I hope you like the game :) . If you have any comments, if you find any bugs (and there are many), or if you would like to contribute in any way, do not hesitate to contact me.

Living Room / Time management software
« on: April 27, 2010, 01:17 AM »

I am looking for an application similar to Microsoft Project. The only thing that I need is an application which would allow me to hit a global hotkey to add a new task. I would either choose a task which has already been used before or I will write down name of the new task and hit enter. That is all. Whenever I create a new task, the program would know that the previous task has been finished, so it would automatically know when the task started and stopped. Then there could be stuff like graph plots, export etc. The more keyboard hotkeys the application supports the better :)

PS: A FARR plugin would be nice but doing all the exports and graphs would be too complicated I guess.

PPS: I want to use a time management software so at the end of each month I know what I have been doing all the time. Another note is that I would like to describe what I am doing ca. every hour rather than every day and therefore adding a new task has to be as simple and fast as possible.

I switched from Ditto to CHS because Ditto was taking 50% of my CPU. But when I copy paste ěščřžýáíé I get ìšèøžýáíé. Is there any way how to solve such a problem? I use English Win7 with Czech Local settings.

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: a better DimScreen
« on: November 25, 2009, 03:17 AM »
It looks to me that DimScreen written by Skrommel does not lower down the screen Brightness, but does some other magic instead.

So I suggest:
In Windows 7, you can go to "Adjust screen brightness" and modify the screen brightness without a need of fn keys.

There exists a Backlight Control Interface:

There exists VB.NET example:

Would it be possible to implement it into AHK? If not then I will try to do my best to code it using C#, F# or anything else, so there would be an option to adjust a real LCD brightness :Thmbsup: But I must warn you that I have a zero experience with Windows API!

Best regards,

PS: One additional idea: zero brightness = turned off LCD screen

DC Website Help and Extras / Show Unread Posts
« on: November 24, 2009, 01:19 AM »

I have one question. When reading unread posts I usually go through them and middle click those I like to display in a new tab. When I pick all the topics I want, I read them. If the unread posts are on multiple pages I go to the next page. And here the problem occurs. Let say I have middle clicked on 5 topics. When clicking on the next page, the five topics are not unread anymore and the whole list moves up. So the result is that I have to click on page 1 once again to see the 5 topics which have moved from page 2 to page 1.

So my question. How do you solve such a problem :P ? What is your way of reading unread posts? Probably, I use a completely wrong way to read them :-[

Thanks in advance,

General Software Discussion / Dual Boot Win7 - Win7
« on: September 10, 2009, 04:28 AM »

I would like to have one production system and one "playing" system. I can not use virtualization as I have only 2GB of ram (I think it is not enough for two Win 7 systems). So I would like to have dual boot of two Win7 systems. I have Win7 on C drive. I have created new partition F and installed another Win7 hoping that Win7 will create boot loader to let me decide which version of the two win7 to load. It did not happen. So I tried to create boot loader by easybcd but it looks like it is not able to create win7 boot loading option. So do you have any idea how to make win7 - win7 dual boot to work? Or any other ideas how to have 1 system for playing and installing all crazy stuff and the other for serious work?

Thanks for any idea.

  • Google Translate - quickly translate between any two languages
  • Online Czech2X Dictionary - look up Czech definitions of words from other languages
  • Character Table - quickly select unusual ascii characters and diacriticals to paste into other programs
  • Google Dictionary - look up words in a dictionary of a foreign language

  • Dicts Thesaurus - dictionary that makes use of
  • Google Calculator - a simple calculator which uses google calculator functions
  • NinjaWords - dictionary that makes use of
  • Tratu Baamboo- Vietnamese dictionary that makes use of

Installation procedure:
  • Delete old CZB pack when updating
  • Delete old user variable section of FARR when updating
  • Download FARRSubScript and CZB pack
  • Unpack them into the FARR/Plugins folder, so you will see CZB_pack and FSubScript folders inside
  • Reload FARR by goreload
  • Type in fssc. Here you can deactivate scripts you do not want to use

  • Many of the CZB scripts are using my new Menu object. Use tab, control+tab and enter key
  • Please post anything concerning the CZB scripts here and not in the old topics. (They will be locked)
  • If any of the scripts did not work for you, try them on again, as many of them have changed!

It is an ordinary FARR plugin, which uses Fsubscript plugin system.

To get into plugin management system type "fssc", to start JScalc type "5+2" or "5*2" or just "jscalc" :)

Find And Run Robot / old IE of HTML view - solved
« on: June 12, 2008, 12:06 PM »
could you pls check what you get when you type:
I get:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0)
so it means that my HTML view mode uses really old version of IE, is it the same with you? (those having IE7)

EDIT: my mistake => IE7 gives the same result.. but still it seems to me as if FARR is not using IE7... I will check further :-[

Living Room / PIN-code
« on: May 16, 2008, 08:28 AM »
when I was in Denmark I have seen cool piece of paper. Because I have never seen it here in the Czech Republic, I have decided to create one by myself. I use all the time :Thmbsup:

How it works:
Let say you have 3 PIN-codes you want to remember:"0123" "4567" "8901". You type them in any fields you wish in the table and then fill all other fields in such a way that every number is in the table exactly 4 times.

Coding Snacks / mouse speed switcher
« on: April 04, 2008, 04:01 AM »
what I really would like to have is a tiny program which would stay in tray and after clicking on it, it would change speed of mouse (so that I can switch between usb mouse and touchpad). Two predefined speeds of mouse would be fine. Also ability to assign some key to it would be great. Is that possible with autohotkey? If so, just tell me pls the function which changes mouse speed and I will code it by myself. There exists already mouseswitcher, but it is paid.
Thanks for any ideas ;)

FARR Plugins and Aliases / javascript SDK requests
« on: February 19, 2008, 02:06 AM »
1)To make custom user regex functioning. Is that possible? The other solution would be to put it into advanced plugin settings.
EDIT: I have also found that instead of writing:
regexstr="^gcal (.*?)=$";
scriptregex=/^gcal (.*?)=$/;
we can use
regexstr="^gcal (.*?)=$";
scriptregex = new RegExp(regexstr);
EDIT: and further writing
pre_regexstr="^gcal ";
scriptregex = new RegExp("^.*? "+post_regexstr);
user can set his own custom alias + regex but only the first part of it. So it can be also solution, but it is not the best...
2) When user saves (hits OK) advanced plug-in setting would call some callback function with user settings instead of just saving it

3) To implement all HTML FORM elements such as select, option etc. to advanced plugin settings

4) To logically separate *.js file and *.dll with separate updating etc.

Hopefully it is not toooo complicated to implement the requests :Thmbsup:
