Vic!, putting up another request.  In the new requests section....

Hi Nick! About to be released, along with BGGFetch.

6
Given:  Large directory tree structure, folders with files, maybe some empty folders.

Challenge:  Move recursively throughout tree.  Delete all folders in entire tree that has in name "xyz".

There might be one such folder.  There might be one hundred.

Hi Nick! nkTree coming:

Supports long paths via Win32 API library: 32000+ characters.

https://github.com/publicdomain/nktree

(I'm finally home & coding for the Public Domain  November release -just some days to go)

(thanks @publicdomain Vic, and others, for much help on many challenges)

Having multiple community support is the best indeed!

(From my humble position, rest assured it's my pleasure, AMIGO :) )

Thanks for your kind words of appreciation Nick :-*

So, the request is, any other workaround besides manually trimming the troublemakers?

Yes. It should be possible to catch & fix those automatically.

I'm adding this one to the list of releases to close the year... (actually getting resources to make one last coding spree on December to end 2021 on the positive side).

Cheers!

« on: November 20, 2021, 02:53 PM »
Any news about this one?

Hello & good day! I'm currently coding the multi-site for PublicDomain.is to begin uploading on December.

Going to buy hosting on Black Friday to grab a good deal for the whole 2022 :)

I've done work with YoutubeExplode as well, so no worries regarding yt-dl (https://github.com/Tyrrrz/YoutubeExplode)

There's certainly a selection of maintained libraries we can use for video fetching

Cheers!

Hello & good day! There you go:

1.  How does Flatten Folder deal with same-name files?

Renames by adding a string based on epoch + file index in the batch.

2.  What is the upper limit number of files that can be processed that have the same name?

As many as needed.

3.  What is the upper limit number of total files that can be processed?

No upper limit! --As much as your computer can handle ;)

Cheers!

PublicDomainVic / Re: Public Domain project -- We're coming back!
« on: November 10, 2021, 05:23 PM »
Thank you very much guys for your kind words of appreciation  :-* It is a fuel for the soul!

Just registered PublicDomain.is to resume making releases this very month with a re-imagined operation for a steady run. Some rewards in the form of server space & online tools are due on the new site to act as an incentive for supporters to stick with us :)

I know our public domain operation only needs time & actively helping more folks to have it be equal and eventually surpass current local/freelancing jobs! A "full-time purpose" dream!

Cheers from a driven, happy & wise,

Vic

Okie! Just posted about our current hiatus & edited the thread to reflect the fact we'll be coming back...

https://publicdomain...us-we-ll-come-back!/

There are still valuable releases to make (i.e. upcoming N,A,N,Y, + several pending ones).

...The weekly project was just a battle; we're certainly not done!

There IS a space for our releases online & we certainly have something to offer toward making people's lives better.

Cheers & many thanks again!

Thank you very much for your replies; they are much appreciated at this very time.

... I think humbled is not a bad word for the experience ...

Indeed. It is an expansive experience to assist in terms of personal growth.

 As 40 always says... onward!

Onward it is! Time to morph back to unscheduled (PubilcDomain-based), accept this as a secondary project (until there's enough support) and give it the whole 2020's up to 2029 to have an actual assessment of success in a smooth way.

Gladly, the "Proudly celebrating 15+ years online" on the header is a persistent reminder that helping is a long-term game, for doing things out of love and -above it all- to ENJOY the creative process.

From a more-experienced,
 :)
Vic

Our public domain weekly project closes shop on October 29th, both because of lack of support and because the domain expires.

https://www.websiteplanet.com/webtools/check-domain/?domain=publicdomainweekly.com

I’m learning to let go of expectations, which translates to learning to make things just for the sake of it.

We will continue in another shape or form. There’s always GitHub and a plethora of freebie ways to share what our project can offer to assist the community.

Thanks for being there.

From a humbled,
Vic

I need a script in AHK ...

Hello dear Contro! If you change your mind regarding it having to be a script, I can do a traditional .exe program for your requirement :)

P.S. there's a question regarding backup @ Re: copy two files from one folder to many folders.

Cheers!

16
Hello amigo, since your request overwrites files, should it have a "Backup on overwrite" check box option?

That's the only thing I think is left, unless you keep your own backups.

torrenttools-trackers v0.1.0 is released!

Day #284, Week #41 @ October 11, 2021

19
Can I have this ?
 :-* :P

Yes, sure! Next version comes with it. Stay tuned.

Note : the program I am assuming i can use with other extension files like .ods , .xls in the same folder COMPO .

That's correct :) Simply change the file or directory pattern before hitting the browse button.

Cheers!

Thanks AMIGO; next post is your full program ...

As promised, here it is:

Post New Requests Here / Re: Possible to get a GUI for this program?

BTW, your proggie's GUI is shaped; full functionality is being added to ALPHA toward public release :)

(I reckon only a few more days; time is the true treasure here! Cheers)

If you need something else added (i.e. another feature), I'm in to assist

Okie, I'm creating a custom release (based on hard-coded "compo" path) right now, with condition on empty dir.

An ahk utility ?

A regular .exe program...

Living Room / Re: Grabbing files from authenticated website
« on: September 23, 2021, 03:45 PM »
Unfortunately it's a proprietary site and I cannot tell it.

No problem 8)

What would be the best way to do that?

I would either use Selenium (https://www.selenium.dev) or a simple "embedded" WebView/WebBrowser for this.

If you're in a rush, we can discuss privately, no biggie. As long as the resulting program goes to serve the public community, I'm in!  :)

(BTW, no hard-coded private URLs, just configurable fields)

25
I was under the impression you were going to provide an update.  :)

After giving it a thought, a "Limitpad2" rewrite on a better editor is the best path.

Currently I have an eye on a "local" web-based one :)

(i.e. running from the user computer, using web technology. Still malleable. Chances are it's up as a PublicDomainWeekly release).
