Hello,

I am currently using jpg instead of png. With the jpg if the thumbnails go

As do I, because I found no other solution.

Thanks for the tip, I guess I have no choice but to go for this solution (or have to switch to another screenshot software).

I note though that this solution goes against the very recommendation that's in Screenshot Captor itself, as it recommends PNG, not JPG:

If this helps, for me it was between 2nd October and 4th October that the change has occured (or at least those are the dates on the files, the change may have happened earlier).

Looking at my Windows Update history, the only updates I had (on Win7) around those dates were "Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Security Essentials".

Earlier and later in the month I also had "Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64" updates.

Apart from the Dopus update I had, the only other software change I recall was updating the Google Drive sync tool (whatever it's called).

I see what you mean.

This is also happening to me. I doubt it's an SC problem, as I haven't changed anything in the application. However, I have installed a few Windows updates (still on Windows 7). This also happened to coincide with a recent Dopus update, I believe. But I suspect the Windows updates.

Perhaps I should have expanded, but I think that the rest of that statement puts into perspective what I mean by 'editing tool'.  Not like something like smartedit or prowritingaid, but a text editor, so I don't find it an unusual characterization, because that's what it is.

OK, it was a terminological misunderstanding then on my part. I get what happened now. You were comparing WriteMonkey to the 'text editor' category of software, with which people on this forum would be more familiar with.

I was reading it as a "non-programmer" (and as an academic writer), so to me 'editing' in the context of writing software meant 'changing and improving the content' of a piece of writing (e.g. what a journal editor does) or formatting and typesetting a manuscript, rather than manipulation of text as data.
