Sorry. I thought this thread was about helping Kalos with MS Project.

1)
Please explain what you want to autoschedule, and what result you expect by doing that.

2)
In MS Project 2007 in the Project-menu | Project Information window you can set the project's starting day (e.g. "today"). As long as you haven't linked your tasks neither changed MSP's default value regarding from where to schedule (default should be from the project's starting day), any new task should turn up with "today" as the default value in the task table.

In the Project Information Windows there is also a "today" date field. As far as i can understand, it's value is the system date value. If so, it's a dynamic field, and therefore changes every new date.

I like Zoomit.

Another neat choice is Oneloupe.

Another option is Workflowy. You'll have to choose the Pro version to get private sharing.

Share and Collaborate: Click "Share" in the item controls to share or collaborate over a sublist with others.

6
Another startup manager is Startup Delayer:

More alternatives on this page:

One of the extensions in Firefox I can't live without is "Back to top":
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/back-to-top/
(http://softwarebychuck.com/backtotop/backtotop.html)

One rightclick, and one click to go to top of page. Done!

This is done without almost no mouse movement. Of course you can also use it for going to the end of the document.

There are some options if you want to adjust its behavior.

Tiddlywiki is an interest concept you should checkout, even if it doesn't comply to all your demands. There a long list of fantastic Tiddlywiki plugins at the Tiddlytools website. There seems to be a tree list view plugin called RelatedTiddlersPlugin.

Another good source is Tiddlyvault.

If you want to check out the many differents adaptions - have a look at the list at wikimatrix.org.

Edit:
I did a quick googling for "tiddlywiki tree list plugin or macro" and found a plugin called "TagsTreePlugin"

Other basic Tiddlywiki sites: http://tiddlyspot.com/ and http://tiddlywiki.org/.

Congratulations.

It would be interesting to know which folder/folders caused the problem.

I downloaded and started it. No problem.

Are you using the latest version (ver 2.28.3)?

Under the top menu, you should have three tabs: Search | Directory | Catalog.

Searching for FreeCad on alternativeto.net gave three more 3D-Cad open source options: 3DVIA Shape, gCAD3D, and AutoQ3D.

General Software Discussion / Re: Alternatives to RecentX
« on: August 26, 2012, 12:54 PM »
It seems that FolderMenu is a decent replacement (the RecentX tabbed dialog with MRU data is however much more developed).

It's written in AutoIt3, combined with XML. But the FolderMenu code doesn't say much to me (I'm not a programmer, even if I have compiled a few C++ and Java/Swing applications). I'm not even sure the source code page I've linked to here shows all source code, and in worst case the code only covers it's own UI.

It would be interesting to understand how FolderMenu deal with ShellExecute or whatever it uses to access global MRU data. Unfortunately, in this case I'm not the "chosen one". :(

Apparently - it gets the job done.

Didn't know about that plugin. I tested it, and it looks good.

Hopefully there's a switch for starting FARR with the MRU-plugin pre-loaded, but is it also possible to define which one of the MRU-lists that are to be displayed automatically upon launching?

General Software Discussion / Re: Alternatives to RecentX
« on: August 26, 2012, 05:39 AM »
As far as I can see it tracks any recently used file, folder, program, and website.

I am however not sure if all activity is monitored, or if the MRU concept itself depend on other applications to write these items to disk. But maybe this goes for any caching application. I also haven't a clue if the Windows registry is involved in some way.

I have installed the portable versions of Folder Meny and Listary at home to check them out. Folder Menu seems good enough, it's small, and not asking me to upgrade to a pro-version. Still, they are not really equivalents to RecentX.

My job computer runs Windows XP.

And yes, the MRU/cache function is what I'm looking for.

At one occasion I hoped for Direct Folders to be an option, but as far as I remember, it had to be installed which I didn't have the privilege for. At my previous job I sometimes used Folder Guide. However, these two applications only deal with folders. The thing with RecentX is that it handles files, folders, programs, as well as URLs.

For a file, you can select/click it in the same way you do in Windows Explorer to open it with the associated program. That's enough, as far as I'm concerned, and what I need.

RecentX is payware.

Even if I won it in a contest, and it's for my personal use (portable version installed on my computer only), I'm not allowed to use it.

Their license scanning application found it. And maybe RecentX would be found even if used from a USB Stick. On my computer it was installed on C: in an ordinary folder.

I don't think it's worth arguing since it's not an essential application. But it's a pity, since it's free and only used by me.

Not really.

That's an excellent website, but I'm not looking for another launcher (which is what RecentX also can be used for), but rather something similar in the way you access RecentX (it's tiny toolbar is an always on top window, put aside at the edge of the screen) and the way it displays MRU items.

General Software Discussion / Alternatives to RecentX
« on: August 25, 2012, 11:09 AM »
Hi.

Last week, I was told by the IT Department at my job that I could not longer keep RecentX on my computer (not even the portable version). I'd won a licence here at Donationcoder quite a while ago, and it's a small nice utility I use occasionally for finding recently used files (and sometimes folders).

I am trying out Foldercache, but I need something more like what I've been accustomed to. When googling I didn't get any good results, probably because it's not that easy to "explain" the issue to a search engine.

Any suggestions?

With Skrommel's Winwarden you can set up a rule for each application, e.g. to position/move its window. Then if you make Winwarden start with Windows, you're done!

Personally I've been using WinSplit Revolution for years. At alternativeto.net there are more options.

I just did a search for "automat" on that page, and got two hits: allSnap and AutoSizer. They are not exactly what you asked for, but maybe some of the other applications on that page match that need better.

Another option:
Todoist
// there are a couple of Android apps to choose from

Recent Lifehacker poll:
Most popular To-do-list manager
// Top5 were Astrid, RTM, Toodledo, Any.do, Wunderlist

Good list for checking further:

One major gripe I am having is that OneNote has no Android client.

Well, that's not true. I have an Android mobile phone with this app installed and running:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.office.onenote

A little slow on syncing, but works okay.

22
How about Locate32?

It's a standalone app which creates and uses its own index, but it's fast and it can search inside files.

Been using it for years. Maybe worth trying.

PDFsam ( http://www.pdfsam.org/ ) is a good choice to start with.

PDF Split and Merge. A free open source tool to split and merge pdf documents
