btw there is also a file called random.ECL (very small 1kb) that updates wenn i run mircryption. that is ok too , right ?

hi ,

i hope its ok to ask another question.

i recently looked in my mircryption folder and saw that there is a file called MircryptionKeys.txt.bak that always updates too if i change some key's in the MircryptionKeys.txt. both files are encrypted.

I like to know if it is correct that there this backup file of the MircryptionKeys.txt that updates too ?

Mircryption / question about the fish addon

hi all,

a few days ago i was on the fish secure site and saw that the latest version of fish is 1.40 beta from 2010. i checked the fish.dll standalone that runs with mircryption and saw that its the version 1.25 form 2004. on the orginal fish site the latest standalone version is also v1.25.

Because that version is some years old i ask myself if it is still secure. There is also a version History to look at but only till version 1.29 http://fish.secure.la/FiSH-History.txt i'am not completly sure if there are any important securety updates among them or the versions 1.30 or 1.40 beta.

If someone could let me know if the mircryption standalone version 1.25 is still ok it would be nice , thx

Mircryption / Question about Mircryption 1.20.01

Hello ,

I like to ask a question and hope i don't bother.
atm i'am still using Mircryption 1.19.01 an it works fine. if i read this right the 1.20.01 version is just a zip. repack to better support Win 7. So if i understand the version info correct, there are no important security or program updates and i can continue to use my 1.19.01 version right ?

good to know that my "problem" isn't one.


the reason why i had no problem with running mircryption on Win 7 64x seams to be that i'am using Mircryption Lite v1.19.01. i guess i was a little incorrect since there was no installation needed. I hope that u can keep up the support for Mircryption Lite in upcomming versions because its really nice.

Hi, i'am kinda new with mircryption and have a question. i installed Mircryption ver 1.19.01 (dll v1.15.01 , mirc v6.35) on Windows 7 (x64) and everything worked fine. A friend gave me an encryption key to his chan, i added it with "set encryption key..." and it worked too.

After some time i wanted to try to disable the encryption and clicked in the channel on the option "Disable current channel encryption temporarily". in the mirc status window i got the info the the encryption is temp off and my nick goes from [ ] to < >. i thought that now i would NOT be able to read the text in the channel anymore but to my suprise i still could read everyting. Only if i set NO encryption key or a wrong encryption key for the channel i can not read the text writen anymore.

Can someone tell me why thats so and if there is someting wrong ?
