Hello! The apps described below are a preview of my soon to be released Puzzles, Games, and Curiosities package. Simple and liteweight, these diversions exist for no other reason than idle leisure. No setup required, just unzip and go. In order to run these offerings, you'll need: Win9x/ME/NT/XP or greater. I hope you enjoy. later on, Mike Mike's Software Co. 8 Queens: The eight queens puzzle is the problem of putting eight chess queens on an 8×8 chessboard such that none of them is able to capture any other using the standard chess queen's moves. The color of the queens is meaningless in this puzzle, and any queen is assumed to be able to attack any other. Thus, a solution requires that no two queens share the same row, column, or diagonal. To play, simply click the chessboard. If you can place all eight queens on the board you've won. The puzzle has 92 distinct solutions. 1 Way: A fun little puzzle. The object is to move all the blue arrows to the right, and all the green arrows to the left. You can move forward to an empty space, or hop over another arrow to an empty space regardless of color. But (yup you guessed it) you can only move 1 way i.e. in the direction the arrow points. Liar: An optical illusion... Card Trick: Utilizing smoke, mirrors, and even a little ahem 'tricknology' =) this little pup can read your mind! |
