WinScroll An Introduction of WinScroll version 5.6.9. Caution:
You need AT compatible PC or PC-98 computer to use this software (it has been confirmed). And you need Windows95, WindowsNT3.51, or WindowsNT4.0 (you can not WinScroll on Windows3.1 or older versions of Windows). WinScroll was compiled by LCC-Win32 (Jacob Navia) for Winscr.exe; Visual C++4.1 (SDK) for WSHook.dll; and Visual C++4.1 (MFC) for WSSet.exe respectively.
Installation
The LZH is an extension for well known format though it is surely a different from ZIP or another formats. You must use some decompression software which it supports LHA format. You should decompress and extract archive, and move at least the following files to your favourite directory:
Uninstallation
WinScroll will shift the desktop little by little when you hit either button with an upper-oriented or a lower-oriented arrow on the edge of scrollbar. WinScroll will shift the desktop by half-size of screen when you click either area of blank in the scrollbar. (You can modify this setting in menu for shifting by whole screen.) WinScroll will shift the desktop by half-size of screen when you hit [Alt]+up or [Alt]+down. (You can modify this setting in menu for shifting by whole screen, and you will be able to change the key-map or key-binding in WinScr.ini.) WinScroll will automatically shift the desktop when you bring the pointer close to up or bottom of the screen, and will stop shifting when you move the pointer away. And, WinScroll will automatically shift the desktop for centering a window when the titlebar of window is appeared on the screen and then the window is activated.
You can fix the scrollbar to the right edge of screen, and WinScroll can automatically hide the scrollbar like as taskbar of Explorer. You can shift the desktop from strokes on keyboard with mapping hotkeys. You can choose the unit of scrolling in the configuration menu (by a half of screen at default, or you will alter it into the whole size of screen). WinScroll will automatically scroll the desktop when you respectively bring the pointer close to up or bottom of the screen. WinScroll supports "windows-gathering" function. You can gather scattered windows around the current area of desktop. Configurations of WinScroll are available via GUI in effect.
You can access to the menu (Fig.1) by clicking the right mouse button on the systemtray icon. You can toggle on/off the scrollbar by double-clicking the left mouse button on the systemtray icon. If you set doing "Fix scrollbar to the right edge (L)" in menu, WinScroll will switch to another status of the auto-hide function for the scrollbar. WinScroll can shift windows, dialog boxes, and message boxes. Taskbar of Explorer and desktop itself con not be scrolled. So, shortcut icons and folder icons on the desktop will not be scrolled as well. If you want to stick some window and prevent from scrolling, you should open WinScr.ini file and put WinScroll up to the window title or window class in entries of [NoMove] Win1-Win5. Example will be shown.
