Started using OpenCTags (http://openctags.sourceforge.net/) (1.2.2) with Notepad++ (5.9.3) to navigate to definitions. After generating an appropriate tags file, one can use "Open Tag" (Plugins -> OpenCTags) to bring up a pop-up window that displays candidate destinations.
Any one using something similar for Notepad++?

Appears to be very unstable with the portable unicode version from Notepad++ build 5.9.5...at least on my XP SPIII PC.

I upgraded to Notepad++ 5.9.5 (unicode version) and did some brief testing. Haven't noticed anything specific yet. Using XP SP3 here too. Any details related to "very unstable"?

Followed the installation instructions for Notepad++ from OpenCTags
After opening a tag screen in Notepad++ and clicking inside the tag screen kills the Notepad++ application completely.
Maybe the portable version of Notepad++ is not as stable as the installed version?

FWIW, I am using a portableapps.com version of Notepad++...strange.
Perhaps I should test generating tags files with other bits of source code.

I've tried with both shell (0wn) and python (kupfer) code without problems.
