I just wanted to send a congratulations to mouser. Since we dont have a landmarks type thread, I thought it appropriate to start this topic and congratulate mouser and the entire DC community on reaching 100000 registered members!
Good job!
-
Sorry, that's just me. I keep forgetting my password and create new accounts a few dozen times per hour.
(congrats, mouser!)
-
100k? Darn, we're moving closer to site sellout, email addresses etc.
Just kidding, I love this place (and it's users) :-*
-
Incredible!!! Congratulations to everyone, especially Mouser and somehow it happened despite Josh! (jk)
Ken
-
Congrats to mouser and the DC community.
-
Hooray! Congrats!
And I just noticed the site has been running for over 1,000 days!
-
*bounces*
Ehtyar.
-
Congrats... that's a serious achievement.
-
mouser, you should be very proud of yourself. This is quite an achievement. Congratulations! And congratulations to the members for making DC an incredible place to hang out.
-
That's 100k registered forum users, but how many are active?
When will we need to balance the load? Can the servers still handle it? And with so many users, doesn't take longer and longer to send out the newsletters?
-
Only 100,000 eh?
What happened to that panhandler who promised to join if I gave him my last $50?
It takes a deft touch to keep this going at all, and it's truly remarkable that it goes so well!

Nah, not since we bought some processing time from the STORM network... :D
-
Great work all. I look forward to seeing DC hit 1 x 10^6 users next.
-
Wow congratulation !!
-
100000 ? Pretty big number.
It doesn't feel like that though. It feels more like a big family to me since only a small proportion is very active. :)
Congratulations to mouser and the team, and to DC as a whole !
-
Congrats mouser!!
It's definitely a well-deserved honour ;)
Also, don't forget that the growth of the site is exponential as each of the registered users tells their friends about the site! Thus.. Let's keep walking towards the 1million!!!
-
Congrats, even if i don't log in,i lurk here on a daily basis. Thanks to the DC community at large, this is a smart forum without smug people, very rare.

I don't know... I'm feeling pretty smug about 100,000 members!
Seriously, since I noticed membership surpassing the 100,000 mark a couple of days ago, "Now we are 100,000" has been playing like a mantra in my head. *Perhaps* PPLandry, Armando, and Doublewitt will get the (admittedly forced) reference and will be able to hum along... Think Expo '67! Think 20 million! Just nod and smile...

who is member #100000?

who is member #100000?

I think that guy should win a Supporting Member status :P
-
Next up: 100,000 messages! w00t!
-
I am really cross 'cos I noticed 100000 was on the horizon and wanted to post it - nevertheless well done Mouser.
Maybe the user who registered 100000 should get a freebie Cody mug or something to mark the occasion ...

If you'd like a trip back in time, here is a (somewhat imperfect) view of what DonationCoder.com looked like in May 2005:
http://web.archive.org/web/20050527031442/http://donationcoder.com/
Wayback Machine rocks! Too bad the forums link doesn't work...
-
The 100,000 member happens to already be a donating/supporting member
I've sent them a note asking them to claim their free cody mug.

who is member #100000?

Easy, check out the member page URL, and drop in the number yourself: beerlover (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=100000) :)
Other prominent user IDs:
#2, mouser (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=2)
#3, Jibz (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=3)
#42, GBark (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=42)
I'm a relatively late joiner, #4340, f0dder (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=4340) :), and I'll leave it to you guys to check #25k, #50k and #75k yourselves ^_^

I, on the other hand, caught DC when it was relatively new. Member number 430 (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=430)

Erm, and where does one see their Member Number? I looked all over my profile and it's nowhere. Searched yours for "430" and came up dry.
Do I need a Secret Cody Decoder Ring?
-
That sounds like a challenge. Do you think I cant be like you and carol and reply to every topic?: ;-) I only reply when I have input I feel would add value to the topic ;-) I am not a spammer like YOU!!!!

By the way, ralf, click on your username next to a post and it will be in the address bar.

Wow, nice work :)
But why so little posts/topics? :P

Coz people love and use our apps hosted here so much that most of them don't have enough time to post. ;)
-
That "Guest" guy is sure sucking up a lot of bandwidth, though.
The lurker-ratio is probably the same here as on other forums. I'd expect it to be lower, since the registration for DC is so darn simple, but I guess there's more to it than that.
-
Most of time guest seems to be in communicado, wherever that is...
-
remember that users have to sign up at the forum to download a long-term free license key, so most users sign up for that reason.
still.. it's enjoyable to see a new person post every once in a while who has just been a quiet reader for a while and suddenly gets inspired. usually that happens when the newsletters go out..
-
Congratulation Mouser!!!
