Title: how to pronounce 'Haneke'

okay, this has absolutely nothing to do with software or computers but i'm hoping that those around here that understand languages other than english will know how to pronounce the name:

Haneke

as in the director Michael 'Haneke' http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0359734/

is it 'han-ek' or 'han-eek' or 'han-eh-key' or 'han-er-ker', etc, etc?

as you know i have a thing about pronouncing names correctly so any 'correct' suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i am not the best at these things, but if i had to guess i would guess
han-eh-key
or
han-uh-key

i think he's German (???) so maybe someone fluent in speaking German will have a certain answer...

thanks, jgpaiva, that sounds good to me - i think i pronounced it like that for a while and then i just thought one day "i've no idea how to do it as i've never heard anyone else say it" so i became paranoid and just stopped saying it.

My friend, Sable, in Germany, made this wav file so you can hear a real German pronouncing his name: Michael Haneke

so, to repeat how Sable pronounces it, i would now say 'han-eh-kuh'.  :Thmbsup:
