Here you can find set of my plug-ins, which was first released during NANY 2009.

The plugin pack consists of:

I'm having a problem with JSCalc - it seems to auto trigger when I am navigating to a path and get to the backslash character.  For example, if I invoke FARR and type "c:\", JSCalc triggers when I type the backslash.  I have double-checked the settings, and backslash is not one of the characters set to trigger it.

If I reload my plugins or just FSSC, it works properly until the first time I use JSCalc. After that, it auto-triggers on a backslash again.

My fault. I will correct it. It is because I made a mistake in regexp

It should be fixed by now. If there is any other bug, pls let me know ;)

With the CZB pack + FSubscript plugin installed in latest version of FARR (Windows XP Pro SP3 with IE 6), it works only the first time.  Any subsequent attempts I get no search results from FARR.

Here is what I did:
- Clean install FARR v 2.52.02
- Unzip FSubscript.zip to Plugins directory
- Unzip CZB pack to plugins dir
- Start FARR (first time)
- Hit FARR hotkey, enter jscalc in the farr input box, I get the jscalc settings window.
 .. once I save the settings I can type jscalc and use the calcultor fine.
- press escape few time to close FARR window

- Hit the FARR Hotkey and try jscalc or other alias search ..
    FARR stops searching.. no search results until I kill and restart farr.

For some reason this plugin only works once after FARR process is started.
Anyone else seeing this problem ??

Yeah.. it is never ending bug which nobody knows where it is. I guess it will be something with dll. Does this happen only for jscalc or all scripts? Have you tried to disable all scripts (by fssc) but jscalc? Try out table data search as people reported this happen with it too when it was a standalone plugin.
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: ryt100 on March 24, 2009, 10:58 AM
I am seeing similar behavior with table data search as well.

I tried disabling all plugins and enabling one plugin only at a time and below is what worked and not worked

Did Not Work:
 - jscalc
 - table data search
 - google dictionary
 - google translate
 - Online Czech2X Dictionary
 - Timer
 - trattu bamboo

Worked:
 - character table
 - definer
 - Dict.info Thesauras
 - Ninjawords

NOTE: This does work fine with Windows XP pro SP3 with IE7 and Windows Vista.  Hope this helpful.

Thanks for testing it out ;)

Trattu bamboo made FARR freeze? That is interesting as there is nearly nothing in it, so if it is so then it will be easier to find the bug :Thmbsup:

So pls confirm that trattu bamboo freezes your FARR (all other scripts deactivated) and then I will try to make debug script to see what is wrong.
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: ryt100 on March 24, 2009, 01:34 PM
Upon further testing ..

Trattu bamboo works fine. (I should have been a bit patient)   :-[
The page is taking a very long time to load on my pc, making FARR appear frozen.

 ;D

lets go further. does google dictionary freeze FARR? It is the second easiest script
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: skajfes on March 25, 2009, 03:27 AM
Maybe it is something with IE. Are some of those plugins using some special feature that is bugged in ie6? Or does FARR's html mode even work with ie6?
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: czb on March 25, 2009, 01:50 PM
well ryt100 is using IE7 as he mentioned. I think there is something either directly in javascript or in fscript.dll which executes the javascript

the scripts use no javascript (only execjs calls from plugin) and just divs etc, so I do not think it would be something inside IE. but who knows...
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: skajfes on March 25, 2009, 03:56 PM
I could of thought that it wouldn't be that simple. I have one more possible obvious reason so bare with me. Is he using your modified Fsubscript plugin or original or is it the same thing?

Sorry guys !! got pulled away at work and couldn't answer back.
Anyways ..

Google Dictionary freezes also.  This is happening with IE6.  It works fine on IE7 machine.  No I am not using any modified Fsubscript.  I am using the original provided in post #1.

None of these plugins load on my system here. I can run the fssc command but the plugin list is empty under farr plugin menu (this is a fresh winx64 system install btw)

I also had this freezing behaviour with 'Searching plugins...' status message.
I've fixed it by deleting file CZB_pack.dcupdate  from "C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\Plugins\" directory
This file occasionally left there by premature extract of CZB.zip file
Correct place for this file should be "C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\Plugins\CZB_pack\"

Not working for me *at all*. I can't even see the plugins listed.

My work system died last week, so I'm rebuilding it now. I need the Timer plugin to tell me when to take my cold soda out of the freezer, before the can explodes  :)

I'm running FAR 2.75.01. I've downloaded FARR_SubScript and CZB_pack. In extracted these so that they each have directories under C:\Program Files\FindAndRunRobot\Plugins\
* FSubScript (containing files FScript.dll, etc.)
* CZB_pack (containing directories Character_Table, Definr, etc.)

I go to the Plugin Manager, Find and Reload. But none of the plugins in the CZB pack are shown.
Title: Re: CZB pack

thats normal that they dont show up there because they are fsubscript plugins.
type: fssc
to see a list of fsubscript style plugins.

Thanks, but that didn't help. I just get a list of files that have the letters f,s,s, and c in them. Also, I'd expect the FSubScript plugin itself to show up in the list of plugin, right?

Even if it does work, I'd be a little disappointed. It used to be that Timer was a first-class pluging: typing "tm" would bring it up. It sounds like (once this is working) I'd need to type "fssc tm", right?
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: mouser on August 10, 2009, 09:16 AM
ok sounds like you havent installed fsubscript, which is a separate download:
http://czb.dcmembers.com/Plugins/FSubScript/FSubScript.zip

incorrect -- tm will work exactly as it did before.

one note: i think the last time i tested, the czb pack may have an outdated fscript.dll which conflicts with other plugins.. i know this is a bit confusing and ill try to figure out a solution to this.
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: CWuestefeld on August 10, 2009, 09:28 AM
ok sounds like you havent installed fsubscript, which is a separate download:

I did download the referenced ZIP, and extracted it into the FARR plugins directory. It contains the files
* deactivated.png
* FScript.dll (dated 2/7/2009)
* fscript.js (dated 2/27/2009)
* FSubScript.dcupdate
* FSubScript.ico
* hardCodedExtensions.js
* help.html
* manager.html

As I mentioned before, FSubScript doesn't appear in either DCUpdater (despite having a .dcupdate file) nor FARR's plugin list.

Is there a script I need to run to register the DLL or something?
Title: Re: CZB pack

Is there a script I need to run to register the DLL or something?

no -- there is nothing you have to do.

it sounds like you installed it in the right place, in Plugins\FSubScript\

if installed it should show up in the plugin list as "FARRSubScript"
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: mouser on August 10, 2009, 09:34 AM
you might try this, restart farr -- see if farrSubScript is in list when you type: aplugins

if not, go to options and the new troubleshooting log tab, and scroll to bottom and look for the list of plugins it has loaded -- see if you see it in there.

No, "aplugins" doesn't show it.

let me ask a silly question -- are you sure that you dont have 2 copied of FARR, and you are putting plugins in one and launching the other?

or go to the options, configure plugins, make sure you dont have fsubscript disabled.

the thing is -- from what you are pasting it's not even trying to load the plugin, which suggests to me either its disabled or its not finding the plugins.
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: CWuestefeld on August 10, 2009, 10:31 AM
Nope. I checked in Process Explorer, the place I'm putting the plugins is a child of the place that FindAndRunRobot.exe is running from.

In options/configure plugins, FSubScript does not appear on the list at all.

Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: CWuestefeld on August 12, 2009, 07:33 AM
Problem solved; it has nothing to do with FARR itself.

While I was rebuilding my system, I was using a file manager that I copied off my flash drive. It had been modified to make it operable as a portable app. What I hadn't known was that this modification put the app into a virtualizing wrapper, so that registry and other "system changes" were stored in its own subdirectory. When I ran the installer for DCUpdater, I did it through this file manager. The result was that it didn't really get installed into my system, although it appeared to be. It actually was installed into the FM's virtualizing wrapper.

So I uninstalled the DC stuff (and several other apps), threw out the virtualized FM, and reinstalled from a real FM. Everything is working splendidly now.

Your intuition about having an extra FARR was correct. But it was odd; even Process Explorer showed that the executable lived in the correct location -- I guess it was a very good virtualizer.

Sorry to have gummed up the CZB thread on what turns out to be unrelated.

Hi, the (very) old ninjawords plugin I've been using now stopped working. It seems http://ninjawords.com/definitions/getdef/ has been taken down. The plugin in the CZB pack of course does not use that but instead loads a part of the regular NW page and works fine. But it requires a "return" to run. By now I'm really used to "alias phrase " (instead of "alias phrase" + enter) for word lookups. So what is currently the easiest way to mod the current CZB pack ninjawords script to run on regexmatch (without requiring a return)?
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: Nod5 on August 13, 2009, 05:13 PM
Also, I suggest adding these lines to the Ninjawords plugin filter part at the end (to remove the background star image + pad the text from the FARR window edge a bit):
          document.body.style.backgroundImage='none';\n\
           document.body.style.marginLeft='5';\n\
           document.getElementById('results').style.fontFamily='times new roman';\n\
           document.getElementById('history').style.display='none';\n\
           document.getElementById('history-iphone').style.display='none';\n\
           document.getElementById('hr-container').style.display='none';\n\
edit: improved code
edit2: one more change to remove history

Hi there,

I downloaded and installed the pack mainly for the Google Translate plugin, but I already found Character table to be very handy.

I do have a problem though. I followed the instructions to install the package but right after I type goreload I get a message that FARR cannot be started, possibly because PROPSYS.DLL is missing. The weird thing is: right after I hit ok for this message, FARR loads just fine.

When I start Windows though, again I see the same message. After clicking OK FARR is loaded just fine again.

So, although everything seems to work perfectly, I keep getting this error message, I have no idea why.

My system setup:
Windows XP Pro SP3 (Dutch)
FARR v2.75.01

Thanks in advance!

hi,

it appears the jscalc plugin contains the same bug as the fcalc plugin; when you increment a variable by n using x = x + n; it somehow increments x by 2*n.

Try:

x = 1.
x = x + 1

or

x = 1
x += 1

you would think x now holds the value 2. However, it appears x is now 3. could you fix this easily? would be nice :).

Thanks in advance!

Note:

Make sure when you unpack the CZB_Pack in the farr plugins directory, that you do so and maintain the parent CZB_Pack parent folder --
if you unpack all the czb_pack zip file contents directly into the Plugins directory, it does not behave well in farr.

To the jscalc bug: it is a bug but I do not know how to solve it right now. The problem is that always when you type it evaluates at the background. And when you hit enter it evaluates again. So if will have to separate the two evaluations somehow. Lets see if I can do something about it ;)

EDIT: yeah. I would need to limit scope of an eval function but I do not know if it is possible. Any ideas?

Thanks czb! To get immediate lookups (only) on new text with an end space I tweaked the if-statement and added a var below it, like so:
if(idletime === 0 && match && match[1] && match[1].search(/ $/) != -1 && matchold != match[1]){
 var matchold = match[1];

Does it happen only when you type "gt en"? or any other language? Please be precise even with spaces etc, so I know when exactly this happen.

Do you use fsubscript downloaded from this thread or any other?

Does the plugin work even with the message, i.e. can you use the google translater in CZB?

Is there anything else which might help me? :-[

Thanks for the information

Here's a list of information that may prove useful:

1) The error pops up as soon as I type 'gt'.
2) I can switch back to the FARR and type one character (a space, a letter, etc.) but then the error window will then re-take focus.
3) I can keep switching back to FARR and, one letter/space at a time, get the string typed out e.g. "gt en es".
4) Once I get past the "gt en es" portion, I can type out the "hello" part without the error, press Enter, and the plugin translates properly.
5) My install paths are:

6) The MD5 of the Fscript.dll in the FSubScript folder is: baeaba8abd90768db158a105271b1e5d
7) I downloaded and used the two archives linked in the first post of this thread.

Please let me know if I can offer anything else.  Thanks.   :)

Ok,

one probably last question before I start searching for the bug. Does the timer plugin in the CZB pack give you the same error and do you actually see the menu offering you languages? This will help me to either search for the bug in google translate or the menu addon.

You must understand that I do not know where to start as there are many many objects which could possibly produce the error. If you were deeply interested in helping out, then there are options how to find out directly. But it involves activating debuging - registry changes and microsoft JIT debugger installation, so I do not want to bother you with all of that...
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: skwire on October 03, 2009, 01:34 PM
The Timer plugin works flawlessly.  No problems at all with that one.  As for the Google Translate issue, could this be a Jave/JRE version issue?
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: czb on October 04, 2009, 05:39 AM
No, it has nothing to do with Java. Do you have Microsoft Visual Studio (2008) installed? Or do you at least have Microsoft Office 2003 installed? :)
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: skwire on October 04, 2009, 05:42 PM
Apologies for the delay.  I do not have VS2008 installed at all.  I do have Office 2007 installed.
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: czb on October 05, 2009, 12:01 PM
That is a pity. Office 2007 unfortunately does not have MSE7 debugger (just-in-time debugger for f.e. javascript) anymore. The very last version having it was Office 03 and Frontpage 03 and of course any full Visual Studio.

Another stupid thing is that MS IE does not give a line number as a part of try catch error information. Both Firefox and Opera do.

I am afraid that without knowing an exact place of the bug, I can not do anything about it. :(
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: TucknDar on November 26, 2009, 05:45 AM
I get the same error as skwire...

The error happens from typing the space after 'gt' and to the space after first language, i.e. 'gt en ' but after that there's no error, and GT translates as expected. This only happened recently, after I tried to translate a longer text from dutch to norwegian, by pasting directly into FARR's search field and pressing enter.

After I did that, the error occurs whenever I try to use gt.

Apart from that, I guess I don't have much useful info to provide... and no install of mentioned products  :(

Is there anything useful I can do to either find the bug or at least a workaround? GT is one of my most used FARR plugins

Okay, I never coded in Javascript, so I'm totally illiterate on that topic, but I tried to make a very simple plugin and I'm seeing something weird.

Here's my code (I basically copied it from another plugin)
It is intended to simply display my google tasks embedded in FARR when i type "todo":

Code: Javascript [Select]
  1. plugins["todo"] = {
  2.   version: "1.0",
  3.   lastChange: new Date(fso.GetFile(currentDirectory+"\\fsubscript.js").DateLastModified).toDateString(),
  4.   displayName: "TODO",
  5.   directory: currentDirectory,
  6.   aliasstr: "todo",
  7.   icon: currentDirectory+"\\favicon.ico",
  8.   description: "Google Tasks",
  9.
  10.   search: function(querykey, explicit, queryraw, querynokeyword,modifierstring,triggermethod){
  11.     if(!explicit) return;
  12.         FARR.setStrValue("launch", "htmlviewurl https://mail.google.com/tasks/ig");
  13.         FARR.setStrValue("launch", "waitforhtml");
  14.         FARR.setStrValue("launch", "setfocus mainpanel");
  15.         FARR.setStrVAlue("EmbeddedWb.ExecJavascript", "document.getElementsByTagName('iframe')[0].contentWindow.document.getElementById('1').getElementsByTagName('div')[2].focus()");
  16.   }
  17. };

Now, here's what's weird. Apparently the memory used to load the html is never released. Maybe this is normal, but I find it odd, because calling my "todo" plugin a few times makes the memory footprint of FARR become really high. In fact every call increases between 1 and 4 MB of memory used, and it seems that it is never released after that (only a tiny bit is released when i close the window). See this pic:

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Each "jump" in the graph corresponds to me typing "todo", enter, and then closing FARR (to the background). See how it keeps increasing until i stop doing it (at which point it's using 68.4 MB). After a while, nothing changes:

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Any idea what's going wrong (or what am I doing wrong?)

Edit: In a previous post I stated that a "google calendar" plugin was doing this, but I was confused, I corrected it now. I'd appreciate any hints.

hmm this is an interesting finding.. i suppose the first step might be for us to figure out if this happens with every fsubscript plugin, every fscript plugin, or what.. that would be our first clue about where to look.
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: koro on December 19, 2009, 12:28 PM
I did a little more testing. Apparently this is not a problem associated to fsubscript or anything like that.

I tried using, instead of a plugin, an alias that does exactly the same (on the keyword "todo"):
View TODO list | dolaunch htmlviewurl https://mail.google.com/tasks/ig

Now, exactly the same thing happens: every time i use that keyword it displays my google tasks, but it eats up between 1 and 4 mb of memory, which are never released.
Right now FARR is using 100MB of memory, and I'm sure if i don't restart it it will grow much bigger in a few days.

So I guess the problem is in the htmlviewurl thingie. Maybe there's some allocated memory that isn't being released?

Maybe someone could try to reproduce this.

you may have found a memory leak in the browser component - i'm going to rebuild with latest version and see if that solves it.

After more testing (with the help of mouser), it seems that the problem is not in FARR but in Internet Explorer (I have version 7, but since I never use it it is probably not updated). I was able to reproduce the problem even without running FARR (that is, repeatedly opening/closing the same Google Tasks page with internet explorer). I will update to IE8 and see what happens.

Hi,

I love this plugin, but when I activate it or runs FARR, FARR gives me a blue tray tooltip with the following error message;

Error occurred while loading C:\Program Files

message: undetermined string constant name: SyntaxError

the plugin seems to work in spite of the error, but it makes FARR a little bit unstable, as sometimes FARR crashes when I try to do certain actions (I don't exactly remember what were those. Usual run programs works without any problems)

Thanks,
Joon

ps. When I check the troubleshooting log, I found the following:

*Loading plugin: Google_Translate\libcurl.dll
 Failed.

Timer was working fine and now it is not.

Nothing comes up when I type "tm" followed by a space in FARR. Whenever I make any changes to the plugin's settings, get the error message as can be seen in this screenshot:

(http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/5640/timers.png)

Any idea?

I thought it was a problem w/ beta version of FARR and since reverted to the stable version..but that didn't help.

Did going with the stable version help with TimeZone?

No Perry. Nothing happens when TimeZone Options is selected even in the stable version.

Since FARR is portable (?), does it help if I zip my FARR folder and share it w/ you for troubleshooting?

Reviving this old thread : Sri, did you get it working ?

(Did you try to erase the Timer config parameters in the FindAndRunRobot.ini file to reset them ?)

I downloaded the latest FARR from the homepage (ver. 2.98.1.0)
and the CSV package and the Fsubsript from the link in first post.
I wanted to try the CSV packege mostly for the Timer plugin but when I set my first timer. it seemed fine but when the timer tried to post a message on the screen (when the time was up)  it crashed FARR.

Yes mouser I downloaded the version from the homepage yesterday.  ON the CZpack thread it did say to download the latest BETA but I dont know where to go to find  the beta versions. Is the version from the homepage a beta?

There's people talking on the previous page (of this thread) about the timer not working.

Hi folks, since latest update (FARR main) I get a nice taskbar popup with this, which is not preventing Google Translate to work, but gaining focus each time I type a single letter.
Is there any known problem with the latest release?

Thanks!

I've tried the Timer, Google Translate and Baamboo plugins with FARR v2.98.01. Both Timer and Google Translate work on my PC running Windows XP. Baamboo shows the error described above, but that seems to be a problem related to the Baamboo website and not the plugin itself.

I find it unproductive to combine all your plugins into a package because then it becomes more difficult to support users who need help. I updated Google Translate with links in its original thread found here (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=12124.msg270833#msg270833)

I have left launchy in favor of FARR. It is a great nifty utility and is better than almost all alternatives I have used in past decade. though the FARR itself is being developed, it seems plugins are lagging behind. Many of the plugins are broken. I wanted to use the calculator but so far no luck. GCalc is broken as google has changed its output and the script doesn't parse it properly etc. I will be trying to customize farr to suit my needs but may I request people to ensure that the plugins are refreshed at least yearly and there is a better way to report what is broken and what is not. Possibly, an auto discovery of plugins in farr will be a great feature instead of manually downloading to plugins directory. I will share if I write something for farr. Once again, an excellent nifty utility and great work guys  :Thmbsup:

Concerning

... and there is a better way to report what is broken and what is not....
-destiny_ruler (April 03, 2013, 08:05 PM)

The typical way this is currently done is by posting a bug report in the respective plugin's thread. When you say 'better', do you have something specific in mind?
Title: Re: CZB pack
Post by: destiny_ruler on April 04, 2013, 08:48 AM
Yes. There can be a up/down vote for plugins in a dedicated plugin page. It can display if it is broken or works only with a specific version. Try to find this zipped plugin pack from search or dc/farr homepage. It is difficult. There is a place for the farr plugins but it doesn't show user input (votes for brevity) in a glance. If I know a plugin is broken, I can simply downvote it on the page. Specifics can be looked for in the thread which is linked in the plugin title.

Something on the same line but much cleaner is for notepad++  http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/notepad-plus/index.php?title=Plugin_Central

Also, a plugin manager that lists the compatible plugins/scripts which can be checked to download/install would be great. I can see that the dcscript plugin is written pretty much on the same line. I haven't explored the SDK but a quick look in the gcalc and some other scripts shows mouser has done an excellent job. I would go one step further and would say that the plugins should also be installed from the farr search box itself. how? See sublime-text package control plugin which allows to install/uninstall/discover(with small detail) plugins of choice.

I have been using keyboard based launchers for years and farr beats all of them. It has a huge potential. Lets host it on github for the world to contribute.

It's not a bad idea. Maybe the new web site, once put in place, will allow to implement something like that.

Concerning a simpler way to install FARR plugins: have a look at DcUpdater (https://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/Updater/index.html). While it does not support installation of all of the available plugins I guess most of them are there.

what do you think?

I had some trouble with the JSCalc plugin from the pack, it triggers everytime i enter a "+" character, even if it's at the start of the command, because of this i could not use folder modifiers (for example the "+music" from the FARR demo video).

I found a solution, I modified the JSCalc's code to ignore the command if it starts with the "+" char but to accept it if it's one of the later characters.
For that, I've changed
Code: Javascript [Select]
  1. var searched = queryraw.search(regexp);
  2. if(settings.special_trigger === "1" && searched !== -1){
with
Code: Javascript [Select]
  1. var searched = queryraw.search(regexp);
  2. var filteraliases = queryraw.match(new RegExp("^[^+]"));
  3. if(settings.special_trigger === "1" && searched !== -1 && filteraliases){
in the CZBPack\JScalc\fsubscript.js file.

I thought maybe some other people might be interested in this fix.

P.S. thanx CZB for the pack, i use the scripts a lot and i learned a lot from the script's code too.

I downloaded the latest version of FARR (in portable format so i don't have to install anything), downloaded the CZB pack and FARRSubScript from the first thread and it works without problems, if i type "fssc" i get the list of installed SubScripts.
I've tested on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 64bit both (those are the only ones available to me at the moment).

You could try to download the portable version of FARR and see if it works with that one.

Must have just been a problem with my system. No problems now, and my new SSD rocks.

Both were/are windows 7 systems.

Glad you managed to get it running. I for one usually reinstall the system at least once every 6 months (usually sooner) exactly because of this "phantom" problems, it takes more time to find a solution than to reinstall the entire system (specially if you use SSD for the system drive) :D
