I seen this on http://daringfireball.net/

I think it's neat technology that annoys the hell out of me.
Whoever invented it should be praised and then beaten to a pulp. :D

Humm... what are those snap previews? Never come into contact with that myself, I think.
-
Techcrunch comes to mind off the top of my head, great site though.
Goto http://www.techcrunch.com/
put your cursor over a link, you should see it then.

Thanks :)
App just showed me on irc, too. Looks pretty cute/cool, but I dunno if I like it. Sorta interesting anyhow, and seems to work pretty smooth.

That's what they said about embedded midi's in the mid 90's :)

Hehe - I never liked embedded midis though, loathed them from the first time I experienced the horror. Same thing with the <BLINK> tag.

I think it can be disabled on the bubble itself:
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
I'm not sure, though, as i can't test it. When i move the mouse to the inside of that square, the freakin thing goes away. It's most anoying. (running opera here, which probably has some influence)

You guys hate this?
I thought it could radically change the way we browse... (less client/server cycles).

I was able to disable it in Opera by clicking on "Options," holding down the left mouse button, moving it over the main part of the bubble, then releasing the mouse button. Then I could disable for ALL sites, and it worked.
Try this instead: Click on Options with the left mouse button. Hold down the right mouse button, and move the mouse over the main part of the bubble, then release the right mouse button, and click on the disable button.

I actually like the snap previews and would love it if all sites had it for external links. It would save me a lot of time, trouble, and bandwidth if they did.
My browser is supposed to have a feature similar to it built in, but I can't remember how to activate it and it's not mentioned any more in the crappy online help files.
It would be a huge help to me when doing google searches.

I have 2 reasons for not like it. The first one is related to it not being part of my browser. I have to hover over the link, it comes up but i have to wait a bit for it to load the image. I don't like that wait.
Also, I frequently use the mouse to help me read (by selecting the text i already read) and this would interfeer too much with that type of reading.
(notice that the first problem could be solved with link prefetching, but i don't like that technique at all)

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it. Some of the kids in my classes use the mouse pointer when reading just like kids use their finger when reading a book.
