I would not miss Facebook if it were gone. It has wasted so much time of so many people... very much like the real drugs do...

But I doubt Anonymous can really shut it down for more than a few hours.

If they must do something to embarrass FB, I hope it's slightly more creative/entertaining than a DDOS. Facebook offers lots of possibilities. 8)

PS: Setting Guy Fawkes as everyone's profile pic would be pretty funny. NTM memorable.  ;D

They can only shut it down until the DNS registers the new nameservers/IP's - Pretty sure Facebook has plenty of both to play with if Anon do try anything.

Nobody is FORCED to use facebook, people have chosen to...so what they are doing makes zero sence.
