Nice of them to tell people!

I just logged in to Yahoo! My Photos and got no message at all! Went to the link you gave and they moved my photos to Flickr - no probs.

Would have been nice to have some sort of warning.

It's a good move though - the Yahoo!  Photos interface was crap.

The only advantage of the Yahoo! Photos interface was that you could save photo attachments in emails directly to My Photos (which was neat). Hopefully this will be changed to link to Flickr instead.

hmm.. that is strange. maybe they're implementing the process in batches. anyway, i have been planning (sitting on, more likely) on combining both of the accounts for some time. glad that yahoo made the push.. :)

Sounds like an attempt by Yahoo to get you to go over the limit on flickr that way when it expires you will then have to pay to keep what you have on there that is over the limit and wont get deleted. So to me it sounds nothing short than a money making scheme by yahoo and I give it a .

you seem to know something that i don't.. this limit you mention, isn't it only for uploading or does it also apply to storage as well?

The limit of photosets to 3 in the free compared to unlimited in the pro is one of the main points I saw from the screenshot that would hurt when the 3 months are up wouldnt it? Me be confused now.

hmm.. that's an interesting point there.. your comments got me curious, so i googled and found this page here on limits - http://flickr.com/help/limits

Limitations of free acount

Non-renewal of pro accounts
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

P.S. btw, i'm not a heavy user but i feel that this is a good opportunity to test-drive the pro a/c.. :)

Yeah it would be nice to try it out, but if it was me I wouldnt get over the limits of the free account and if I did on photosets I would merge them into 3 (if possible) before the pro expired if I was going back to free. :)
