Title: Logging out of Facebook is not enough

I don't know if the technicalities are right, but it looks plausible, sadly:

But logging out of Facebook only de-authorizes your browser from the web application, a number of cookies (including your account number) are still sent along to all requests to facebook.com. Even if you are logged out, Facebook still knows and can track every page you visit. The only solution is to delete every Facebook cookie in your browser, or to use a separate browser for Facebook interactions.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, but it does mean that someone will...

I wonder if cookie blockers will make a comeback...

Facebook is notified whenever you visit one of the more than one million sites on the web that use Facebook Connect and has a history of leaking personally identifiable information to third parties.

Turn off the flow of your data to them!

Facebook Disconnect blocks all traffic from third-party sites to Facebook servers, but still lets you access Facebook itself.

Anyway, public information:

Facebook Disconnect triggers a warning because the extension has to inject JavaScript into every page you browse to disable the component Facebook links.

Hmm...Logging off may not be enough. But abandoning Facebook completely is still a viable option. :)

I have the whole "apps" platform disabled in facebook, because I don't use it and I see it as a security risk. When visiting a lot of pages, I get a "you must have the facebook social platform turned on to view this box" kinda things... also when logged out.

I'm glad I finally deleted my Facebook Account. I wonder if I still need Facebook Disconnect. . . :-\

Facebook security hole allows viewing of private photos (http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3318652) - I think essentially, no matter what security label you stick on stuff be it private or public, never post anything that you do not want to be public :-\.

I wonder if incognito mode in Chrome is enough?  I only visit facebook to play a game that's not outside of facebook...  :-[
