Spotted this link up on the Confessions of a Freeware Junkie website.
There are a couple of gems listed in Emma Alvarez's blog. Worth a look.

These services help you to do tasks that you would never imagine doing in such an easy and quick way.

Anybody have any other favorites - or possibly start a new thread on the subject to get them all in one place?

Small typo: it should be .html at the end, not .htm
So it's: http://www.emmaalvarez.com/2008/04/recommended-55-free-online-tools.html (http://www.emmaalvarez.com/2008/04/recommended-55-free-online-tools.html)
Otherwise you get a 404 "Not found" error

thanks city, i probably caused that problem when i added the picture to 40hz post in the process of blogging it.

Cool! I like FontStruct (http://fontstruct.fontshop.com/). It let me finally create my "secret decoder ring" alphabet I used as a child!

Yep, I was lead to the error page...which resulted in me looking for other stuff on her blog (drop dead beautiful lady, I might add as well). Very interesting in what she writes. She also has a list with 55 MMORPG's (free an otherwise).
Thanks Ms. Alvarez and (of course!) 40Hz for bringing her to my attention. :)

Wow. I've never thought that someone had "alphabet" so similar to mine :) The only difference was the symbols order.

Yep, even her Ubuntu list is comprehensive compared to most sites. Even those blogs primarily focused on Linux

Ha! Mine just goes through them A-M with no dots, then N-Z with dots. I've now added numbers and most of the symbols.

It has all of the alphanumeric characters, but it's still missing some special characters like {^$%@*} etc.

So I just found out that this little "Secret Decoder Ring" style code is so widely used it has a name: The PigPen Cipherw.
And apparently it's been used by the Freemasonsw and even Kappa Sigma (http://wikileaks.org/wiki/The_secret_Ritual_of_Kappa_Sigma_%281995%29) which was founded in Italy during the 1400s.
