UPDATED: WINNER POSTED (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=6304)

Ok.. we've got something seriously special for you programmers in November...

Chris Hanscom from Veign.com (http://www.veign.com) (and a longtime member of DonationCoder) has generously donated a super-tricked out version of Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/products/subscriptions/chart) with MSDN Premium Subscription for us to give away to one very lucky programmer.

The suite includes includes every piece of software that MS makes for development purposes: Visual Studio, all Microsoft Operating Systems, all software development platforms, lots of MS applications (all the Office products), mappoint, SQL Server, and also includes the full MSDN library on DVD plus online access. It's valued at over $10k.

deadline is November 25th, 2006

NOTE: This giveaway is for serious programmers only, but you do not need to be a supporting member of DonationCoder.com to enter.  If you have friends who are programmers but don't hang out at DC, please feel free to send them the link - we'd like the prize to go to someone who can really put it to use.

The prize cannot be resold and will be issued in the winners name with licensing being controled by Microsoft. As Microsoft is issuing the subscription, Veign and DonationCoder cannot be held liable for anything relating to this giveaway (to include, but not limited to, cancellation of subscription by failing to follow the licensing rules set forth by Microsoft or by attempting to resell any software included in the subscription).  So we ask that only serious programmers enter.

Thanx to DonationCoder for putting this contest on.

This prize is something I have had for 4 years and its an amazing software package.  Setting up development machines running any MS software is a huge advantage and made my development life easier.

Also, the MSDN subscription will be for 1 year from activation of the invite.  During this time you will receive updated DVD's every month.

Enjoy and good luck to all.

Another thing: Visual Studio is a great platform for building ASP.NET applications.  So, any serious web devs would benefit greatly from this...

Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! 8)

I will actually use it to its full potential

Software development in multiple languages? Yep, that's me.
Running a Active Directory Forest with Server 2003? Yep, I will.
Search MSDN at 2:45 a.m. while trying to debugg my ASP.NET app? You betcha!

Oh! The possibilities are endless and exciting!  :-*

Even if I don't win, I still want to thank Veign for the very generous donation.

I am posting this just a little late. (too late for it to push it to the front page)

I submitted the link to digg:

I'm sorry for sounding like a spoiled child (and probably both biased by being a journalist and doing proof-reading a lot throughout my day and offended by not being eligible for the drawing because I'm not a "serious programmer" - I can't even write "Hello World" in any language other than German, English, French or Latin), but:
"NOVEMEBER ... GIVEAWAY"?
:-)

?
No reaction for almost 2 weeks?
And I thought that mouser was a quality control freak  :)
Hint: I meant the headline on the "Specials" page (https://www.donationcoder.com/Specials/index.html), not this very page.

And yes, I promise to stop complaining about typos. Right after tihs one.
;)
