i was thinking it might be fun to have DC Cody tshirts customized to show pride in a specific programming language or operating system, etc. might be fun?
like a donationcoder t-shirt with cody professing his love for c++ or python, or linux, etc.
-
If I could have one with a pic of Cody wearing this helmet, he wouldn't even have to profess his love for Delphi, and I'd still love it. :-*

I still want to find a larger picture (or vector drawing) of the red Coding Snack bowl. That red bowl, along with some "Coding Snack"-related text, would look badass on a black shirt.

the red Coding Snack bowl.

Please, no Communist code!
-
Would that fit with the awards and achievements from the programming school?
I like the idea :)

i could recreate that image if required (assuming the original image is not large enough for t-shirt printing). i'd probably have to modify it enough so it didn't look like a deliberate copy of someone else's work.
(or i could just do an exact duplicate, only larger. depends on the usage rights of the original image.)
-
I'd love to see what you come up with, nudone.
-
CafePress (http://www.cafepress.com) is an excellent resource to have shirts printed (as needed). They offer the advantage of a multitude of OTHER media (mugs, mousepads, clocks, et cetera).
-
We actually already have a CafePress page... http://www.cafepress.com/donationcoder/1057655
-
this is a vector "duplicate" so it will scale to whatever size is required. the image below is at 200% of the original raster image.
it's not identical - didn't see the need. as it's vector i can easily change the colours and details if required.

original bitmap image at 200% on the left. vector image on the right.
-
wow,
looks really great nudone
-
that would look pretty cool on a shirt with some red and black text (in a communism-style font) saying something cryptic related to "Coding Snacks".
-
if you throw around a few ideas of what you want to add then i'll put it all together at the end.
i just wonder if the font should be more of an oriental style because of the chop-sticks. or is that too obvious?
(glad you like it tomos.)
-
Personally, I am with Nudone. The oriental style was what I always thought of, not the communist bloc style...

That's what I was referring to in this post: https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=23403.msg212474#msg212474 However, like nudone and steepadept, I've always thought of it as an oriental style bowl. I'm picturing two shirts:
- Black t-shirt. Large bowl image, red, centered, on the back. Small "Coding Snack" text on the front, over the left breast area.
- Polo-style shirt with small bowl image, red, over the left breast area. Either a black or white polo would look good, methinks.
-
not saying this is the right font to use but it's free for commercial use and it looks kind of BladeRunner/oriental/future/mish-mash - which appeals to me. the justification is "coding" snack obviously relates to programming which relates to technology, relates to future, relates to blah, blah, blah.
but, i admit, there's nothing wrong with something that looks traditionally "Chinese" or just a plain helvetica (novelty fonts tend to lose their appeal after a few viewings, i find).

this was just one of the fonts over at: http://www.fontspace.com/category/asian

We're really lucky to have you doing this image stuff, nudone!!
That font makes my eyeballs roll in opposite directions! ;D It's the first time in years that I've looked even remotely normal…

That is if Google Translate got "Coding Snacks" right ;)
I love the graphic tho'... Chris is right: you're a genius and we're lucky!

that's an idea -
we can finally compete with all those countries that have terrible english translations on their t-shirts etc :D
-
thanks for the praise, but i can't really take much credit - i didn't create the original coding snack bowl.
mouser is the one that chose the DC icons, so it is his keen eye that we should thank.

I hadn't thought of that... but that's a funny (if not totally PC) idea ;D
-
is anything happening regarding the coding snacks t-shirt?
-
i thought i was still waiting for a final design?
-
hmm, right. does that mean i was meant to just design something and that was all?
i hadn't because i've been waiting for more feedback and comments about what the design is meant to be.
i just thought everyone had lost interest in the t-shirt(s).
-
@nudone: Can you make that vector image available? I'll put something together with it...
-
i just thought everyone had lost interest in the t-shirt(s).
hell no!!!
i just expected the Coding Snack gods like skwire and skrommel to speak up and say what they wanted the final design to look like.
no one ever loses interest in Cody!

i'll email it you.
-
This is what I had in mind. Pardon the lack of transparency on the shadow.

hmm.. i can't help but think we can do better..
something a bit more mysterious and samurai-spirit inspiring might be nice.
something that stirs bystanders to envy, fear, apprehension, and awe.
-
and why is the bowl sitting on top of a magnifying glass?
and same image on front and back?

That's the lack of transparency in the shadow I menitioned...

Sure...this was just to get the ball rolling.

keep it up and you'll lose your cody badge!

i could, probably, put that together. there is also the question of black bowl on black t-shirt - are you going to see the image. does the bowl need to be a different (lighter) colour. and that shadow under the bowl - may as well be removed completely; i doubt the transparency will look good on any t-shirt (well, it will look like it's a cheap t-shirt print - just my opinion, of course).
-
I think a grey TShirt would be better -
but you're still going to have the problem "are you going to see the image. does the bowl need to be a different (lighter) colour." I have no experience here so cant answer those questions...
I know there are different methods for printing on Tshirts (but only know that from looking at them!)
-
okay. i'll remove the shadows from the image and i can colour the bowl if required (leaving it black on a grey t-shirt would look fine, i think).
let me know what else to edit and then we can carry on. or not, as no one still seems sure of what they want.
