Title: ZoneAlarm is blocking some of the pages on DonationCoder.com?
Post by: mouser on December 06, 2005, 12:15 PM
i've gotten two reports that browsing our site with zone alarm is sometimes showing pages with just a thing bar across the top and no content.

anyone else experience this and/or solved it? (or anyone with zone alarm not experiencing this?)

I have ZA and havent experienced any problems... though I have AdMuncher instead of ZA adblocker.  Unless these problems happened since last night, I dont think ZA is the culprit.  Tell them to try ZA without any of the adblocker stuff turned on.

just an update, with some help from a member (thanks lynn) i think i found the problem.
when ad blocking is enabled in zonealarm, it was sensing an html comment(!) that had the word "AD" in it, and getting completely confused.
the html comment is used on our pages to help us remember when the google ads can get inserted - i've never head of a blocker looking at  html comments.. interesting.

anyway, i've changed the html to remove that word and it seems all is fixed.
