so were you hosting DC yourself, or were you using a paid webhost provider? I never figured that out, but anyways, I'm glad to see the site is back up. :Thmbsup:Dedicated server at a hosting company - mouser would have had to have a pretty massive home internet connection if he were to host it himself :P-nite_monkey (March 07, 2008, 12:47 AM)
Its too bad that you were too busy fixing problems to put a stat-counter on the replacement page to see how many of us checked in hourly to see if things were back up.Parsing server logs should give that information, and in more detail (since you get IPs there too :))-oldfart (March 07, 2008, 05:25 AM)

.. I just left DCPostNotifierLite (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=6800.0) running ...Oh yes, that's a good idea - I was a little disappointed that I didn't receive a mail when DC was closed, and a mail again when it was up and running. But of course it is too late to learn from this, now, because it will never happen again!? ;)-tomos (March 07, 2008, 06:56 AM)

I confess ...
I was just having a little dig at the message on the "Server is down" page -
I do get to go out and get fresh air [most]everyday...but I guess dc time often tends to come out of my work time :-[
having had a break can help me break that habit...
but hey it is nice to be back :)-tomos (March 07, 2008, 04:57 AM)
I had the privilege to host DC temporary site on my server during the downtime (just for the displaying maintenance notice), and.... believe it or not, the gzip'd text html page alone (not including the cody pic displayed) accounted for 4.01GB of traffic usage in mere 3 days. :o-Wordzilla (March 07, 2008, 10:55 AM)
And thanks to the member that warned mouser about the infection (can you believe I forgot his name? :o)From the information that was fed to me (and IIRC), it's jazper (http://donationcoder.com/donate/195) you're talking about! ;)-Lashiec (March 07, 2008, 02:22 PM)

[donating topic]Will this link (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=dlist;sa=search;search=51418;fields=uid) lead you to Curt's donating page? I merely right-clicked the (see attachment in previous post (https://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=12559.msg104841#msg104841)) pic below my Homer van Gogh pic.[/donating topic]-Curt (March 08, 2008, 03:11 AM)
