I think the Robo Cody is the best of the three. Would your fiancé mind if I tried to convert it to a more computer-friendly version and posted it here? Not that there is anything bad about a scanned paper, but I am a perfectionists  ;) and it looks like a fun thing to do.

Yep, tiz me...She mentioned she hijacked my DC account to reply...which bugged me, cause I didn't realise (Spellcheck...how many times must I set you to UK English before you will understand THIS IS HOW YOU SPELL THAT WORD!) how many replies this had cause it fucked off out of my "Show new replies to your posts" area lol.

It would really be great if Hally could make an alternative NANY mug image.. If she's willing I can send the image dimensions.. what should we ask for it to look like or say?

So here is the normal "official" NANY 2013 mug design, which remains basically unchanged for several years.

It's nice to have one or more alternative mug designs that people can choose instead of this classic one.

An alternative should be this same size (1662x600), and say the main text somewhere: "NANY 2013" and "New Apps for the New Year" and "DonationCoder.com".

But the image design, layout, contents, etc. can be anything.

Some thoughts:

Hally's illustration(s) could be incorporated into a mug design by someone with design talent - which might be herself, but could be anyone.

I can technically do that kind of thing - but unfortunately, I dont have any real talent in that direction (design). Actually when I think about it, I'd say some type of hand drawn/inked calligraphy would go super with these images.

One Two of the things I love about the illustrations are the hand-drawn/painted quality, and the use of an aged looking paper. (Trying to convert them to vector images would lose a lot imo.)

With an illustration like that the most important thing initially is to get a really good quality and fairly high-resolution scan (or photo).

Till now all DC/NANY mugs are printed on a brilliant white -
an off-white or ivory mug would suit these images much better I think

i can do some fancy writing/script for the mugs too an yeh i think that a off-white or ivory mug would look brill with these drawings :)

I'm no photoshop expert but an aged look can be added there.
(I saved a tutorial somewhere on that - will dig it out.)

I finally managed to finish the computerized version of Hally's Robo Cody. It looks worse than the original, but at least it has a transparent background and I have it in partially vector format, so higher-resolution png is not a problem if it is needed. All copyright stays with Hally.
