Can you survive 1 day?

It's tomorrow!

What a perverted thought.

But since I, at the moment, generally sleep until two hours before I have to leave for work, and don't get home after until midnight... I guess it's doable.

I totally can, and have gone for long periods without my computer even being on.

...but may 3 is Wednesday.
I have to work Wednesday.
I use a computer at work... :wallbash:

Um... isn't May 3 Saturday?

I'm not even going through the motions of trying.  There is no way I can do it.

I always sit at the computer for several hours on Saturday, so I am not going to attempt to do it.

Shutdown what? Our computers?  Why?  What's the point?

Please don't tell me it's a "green" thing, save the planet and all that.  I'll gag.

Tell Al Gore about it!

Is it "Shutdown Day"? or "Kill Your Spouse Day"? (they would be the same thing if I shut down my pc for 24 hours)

How can I get my photos done if I shut down? or my writing? or my CV?

Although if the weather permits I will shut down for most of the day.

But the concept is not just green, i think it is "look up from online communities and go spend time with real people" and I can relate to that, too easy to get stuck online.

Shouldn't they have announced a cut-off point for shutting down? As in, if I realise it's shutdown day at 11:40 PM and restart 20 minutes later, am I perhaps using up more power restarting everything? Some people have NO concern for the planet!

Can you survive for 24 hours without your computer ?
Which one?  My notebook? Yeah, absolutely. It's at HP service and certainly shut down as they don't work Sat/Sun. :P

Not really necessary to define explicit period with timezones and all that... just spend _your_ entire may3 without turning on your computer. Like, 24 hours straight.

...or maybe that was it.

Besides, I've planned a 20-mile bike with my son on Saturday, so I think it'll be no problem.

No problem.  I'm leaving at 6:00AM tomorrow to go to a Sheep & Wool festival.  I won't be back until Sunday afternoon.  At least 32 hours !!!!

I'm one of those typical addicts in denial: I could do it if I wanted to. But I don't want to, so I'm not going to.  :P

I could, but I didn't do it for Earth day, and I didn't do that "lights out" hour thing...

Besides, whats 700W for 24 hours? Global warming? Ha! ;D
