Configuring Browsers

Top  Previous  Next

Unlike version 1, where you had to configure your browser names and locations manually using a configuration file,  with version 2 of Browser Tray Switch, simply start the program and then "teach" it about your browsers.

When BTS v2 is started for the first time, it will make a backup, and then detect your current browser, and ask you to save a configuration file for it.

To add a new browser, launch that browser and SET IT AS THE DEFAULT BROWSER.

Some browsers will volunteer to do this on startup, some require you to do this through their menu system.

Once a new browser is set as the default system browser, click on the BrowserTraySwitch tray icon, and you should see a dialog pop up telling you that Browser Tray Switch has discovered a new browser and asking you to save a new browser config file.

Repeat this process for all of your browsers, or whenever you install a new browser.

You can name the browser config files anything you want -- what you name them is how they will appear in the BrowserTraySwitch menu.  You can also delete or rename these files manually whenever you want.
