My favorite file re-namer. It's got to be File Re namer Basic. Get it at File Re namer Basic

It's got ton's of features like a explorer interface, and fast scanning of folders. It finds the files for you all you have to do is click on a folder and scan. Files are displayed in the right pane.

My favorite feature is the ability to select just the files you want to rename, with just a click of a button. You can select all files in a folder or just a few.

Other features include list or thumbnail view. Can add a prefix or suffix, custom file extension and numbering. It also has a file history option and a undo feature.

Here's a screen shot

I wouldn't dare to settle with the (free) Basic, as only the $20 Deluxe offers Undo - people like me seriously need everything to have the option to undo... - but then again, that is not a big problem, because File Renamer Deluxe 4 seems to be a really fine renamer! However, it doesn't say if Unicode is supported. Is it? :tellme:

I was pleased to learn that Flexible Renamer now is Unicode'd

Curt — thanks for the heads up on Flexible Renamer, a fantastic renamer I used for years with version 7, and then development stopped. Speaking of stopping development, Jim Willsher is retiring Bulk Rename Utility after creating a 64-bit version for Vista. He will occasionally release bug fixes, but no more as the app is fully mature.

It's a shame you do not search the forum before posting
