"if you live in the pacific northwest and would be interested in attending dc gathering, post what city you are from and how far you might be willing to travel to attend"

this approach could work as a general approach to dc gathering announcement threads?

Oops! Didn't follow my own instructions - I'm in Courtenay, 2 1/2 hours north of Victoria and about 3 1/2 hours from Vancouver.
