OK, not sure if this has been asked before (if so feel free to close topic), just its for a project I am doing, and the fact that I am looking to try new (good) software, so here goes.
What are the top 3 programs/games you use on a daily basis? (You don't need to post 3, just no more then 3 please) EDIT: It would also help, if possible, to also link to the program (I need to install it myself for the project).
After a few days I will take down the apps/games and count them off, and the top 25 or so will get added my project, SimpleStart (easy starting of commonly used apps) that I am releasing later this month.
To start off, mine are... Pidgin Firefox Halo 2 Vista

This is hard for me to answer because I always have so much running and there are at least 40 that are running at all times for various reasons.
But if I had to pick 3 that I am always actively using and would be of interest to someone in 'the rest of the world' they would have to be these 3:
1. AOL Explorer browser 2. xchat 3. OpenPandora

it depends on what i'm doing, usually i will launch programs by categories - web-browsing, word processing, music & movies, gaming & etc.. but off the cuff, it will look something like this: • 1st i pay homage to this program called Farr, you might have heard of it.. • then the ubiquitous Firefox. • and finally the indispensable Altap Salamander.

opera acrobat onenote
of course, Total commander is always open, but doesn't get used that much in terms of time with windows on focus.
Vim gets outbursts when I'm programming.

In no particular order:
Outlook 2003 Maxthon 1.6 EDIT: Don't know how I missed DOpus 9!
For the final app, it's a toss up between: Evernote 2.1 Word 2003 ZuluPad Pro

Awesome, keep the programs coming!
Firefox and Opera have places in the program guaranteed, FARR and Xchat might also. (Maxthon is included, but only 2.0)

Hmmm, only three, tough one... Let's say : - Photoshop
- Firefox
- Autohotkey (because i use it to enhance other programs i use, including Photoshop)
And FARR to launch all of the above (and more)

I'd say FireFox, TheBat, NotePad++. Most of my mail is forum reply notifications though, so if we count those out we could switch TheBat with explorer^2 - yes, for some reason, I spend a lot of time copying files around and whatnot Listing a web browser is pretty much "duh", so perhaps I should replace that with MSN (or Miranda, really) instead. Keep it running most of the time, though whether it's the most-used app changes depending on what I'm actually doing - some days it just sits idly in the background, mostly. A couple of years ago mIRC would have been a solid #1, but now I only log on a couple of times a week. Oops, that was more than three, I'm afraid

Lately & excluding Freehand (vector drawing app) which I use for work,
I would say: DOpus 8 Surfulater Evernote as well, even though as I get to use it more I'm not that crazy about it
Firefox get's left out cause it's bugging me at the mo (I'm really an opera fan but cause of Surfulater..) I know you said only three but I cant leave out instant boss from app
