Going out on a limb here, but I'd guess:

1. NTLDR
2. explorer.exe
3. winlogon.exe

1. XYplorer File Manager
2. Opera browser
3. Various chess, PGN game programs (Shredder, LT, etc.)

AutoHotkey scripts are always running in the background, as is a text editor.

Just an update (not that it's such a big deal). I've been using Seamonkey version 2.0a1pre for a couple of months now. It's remarkably stable.

Still working with Photoshop, but I just got a Pentax K10 digital SLR, so I'm spending a lot of time with $ware like Phase One, Bibble, and OnOne.

According to RescueTime, my three most time-used apps are:

  • MuRD - a fantastic multiple remote desktop manager app.
  • Firefox - obvious
  • FeedDemon - RSS reader

According to RescueTime,...
I am totally and utterly one very large questionmark: What is it wih this Resque Time: Are (nearly) all of my PC operations recorded online if I install this program?

I'm not completely certain I understand what you're asking.  The time you spent working in any application is recorded online, but not what you did in that app.  It then makes pretty graphs showing how you're misspending your time.

Back in August 2007, I listed ClipMate, DirectoryOpus, and a tie between ActiveWords and PowerMarks.  I'd still list ClipMate and DOpus, but Powermarks has been marked for end-of-life, and while I still use ActiveWords every day, it hasn't been updated in the past year and a half.  So I think I'd now replace those two with Linkman, which I've come to feel is an even better bookmark manager than Powermarks.  This listing omits my browser (Firefox) and my email client (Mulberry), as well as at least half a dozen other programs I'd love to include.

SSH
screen
irssi
(and vim as a close fourth.  I suppose if you count instances used, vim moves above irssi and irssi above screen, making the list ssh/vim/irssi/screen)

The link to download Linkman Free is a bust! Where can I get it?

1. SeaMonkey
2. Sandboxie
3. Jarte

The word 'use' was important in determining the answer because some programs like antivirus, firewall, et cetera you install and configure but you don't put hands on again.  Browser and email client, browser protection, and word processor are hands on used daily.
