Start pages, revisited

(1/1)

zridling:
Start pages are making a comeback.

Here's a few that are cool:

* popurls — http://popurls.com/

* Netvibes — http://www.netvibes.com/

* Pageflakes — http://www.pageflakes.com/

* Windows Live — http://www.live.com/getstarted.aspx

* Google — http://www.google.com/ig

* myYahoo — http://e.my.yahoo.com/config/my_init?.intl=us&.partner=my&.from=i

* InfoNGEN — http://www.infongen.com/

*

freznel:
Yes, they are definitely making a comeback. However, I always find that having these pages as start pages always prolongs browser startup time. So i'd rather have about:blank as a start page and have handy bookmarks for these start pages should I wish to visit 'em :)

jgpaiva:
Until not much time ago, i used to use about:blank as start page, but right now, i wouldn't give up opera's speeddial for anything ;)

Mamoun:
I like start pages, they have gone a long way since the beginning for sure, but I feel the same as freznel, they slows down your browser, so I would rather have them on demand.

My choice from the above list would be netvibes.

EDIT: ooops, sorry for the bump.

f0dder:
I use www.google.dk as my start page - it's very fast to load, and my browser is always started with "win+r->http://whatever.url", clicking the firefox icon (which usually means I want google), or double-clicking an URL from a mail message :)
