DONE - IDEA: Global Push-To-Talk Hotkey
« on: September 15, 2005, 01:41 AM »
Hi,

How about a little thingy that runs in the background, and keeps your Microphone Recording volume at '0', unless a specified hotkey / combo is pressed, in which the recording volume is raised to the normal level? Maybe it could be made to invert this as well (i.e. push-to-mute)?

EDIT: Oh, yeah. Apparently Bob sent me.

Thanks,
-Jarrad

Sort of what I was after; but I want to mute the recording volume - I'm using Voodoo Voice and it's incredibly sensitive, even when your Speech Rec option are set to High Sensitivity (only acts if it is 100% sure of what you said), so I only want the mic inputting to the computer when I want it to.

Thanks for the reply, though :)

MicMute just mutes the playback volume, not the input volume.
This means although the sound going into the mic isn't echoed out the speakers, other applications (i.e. Speech Recogition) still 'hear' the microphone.

I think.

:-[ Hope nobody offended anyone using the old version...

Now try v1.1. It's not perfect, as I couldn't make it mute, but it toggles the input volume between 0% and 100%. But you can make a shortcut to it and add a number like 50 after the filename to have it toggle between 0% and 50%.

MicMute toggles the microphone's input volume between 0% and 100%.

Features:
- Place it on your QuickRun toolbar for easy access.
- To change the On volume, make a shortcut to it and add the wanted volume after the filename.

You'll find the downloads and more info at Skrommel Software.
