vulnerability attack test

(1/1)

nudone:
this will probably sound like an odd request, but does anyone know if i can download a database of nasty trojans and things to attack my system.

i'd isolate my computer and make backups and images of everything before attempting to infect my pc.

the reason for all this is that i'd like to compare a few of the main security programs out there - i'd like to see which performs better. which method of realtime protection or scanning appeals to me, then i can wipe everything off and restore from the backup images.

i've read reports in pc magazines where they perform similar tests on infected machines that they keep for review purposes.

is it possible to get an 'infection' database file full of nasties or do such things not exist due to the harm they could do.

or, is this method i describe just stupid anyway? if there is a better way please share your thoughts.

tinyvillager:
Try http://astalavista.box.sk/ and search for exploits, virii and RATS.
A few years back i went through a ,i wanna be a hacker phase, and would
fiddle around with Back Oriface and Subseven, subseven was my favorite
and actually managed to break into about two people's machines,a little off
topic, but anyway this place usually can give you access to the latest exploits
and disturbances that are catching the eye of anti-virus companies.

BTW,for the record,i do not mess with people's computers,i'm a law abiding,
gentle human being,an angel if you will. But i do recommend visiting these
types of site to find out how smart your enemy is.They are very smart and
you'd be wise to be paranoid.

P.S. If your Anti-virus or anti-trojan doesn't pick up on Back Oriface or subseven, ditch it!
