Java install - online or offline?

(1/1)

tomos:
discovered (using http://secunia.com/software_inspector/?task=load)
I had already have two [older] versions of Java installed so will probably uninstall both & start from scratch.

But which version of Java to install ???
   Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003 Online * filesize: ~7.1MB

   Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003 Offline * filesize: 13.16 MB(http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp#win)

(I have contacted Java already but fear a long wait ...)

tomos:
I did  have a look at their website but couldnt find any relevant info..

dont mean its not there of course ...

f0dder:
I always pick the offline version no matter what I install, since the "online" installers tend to download other stuff at install time. With an "offline" install, you have all the files you need.

tomos:
ahhhhhh, now I understand, thanks f0dder!

I thought it had to do with what you used it for   :-[   :)
