Help with URL Snooper
« on: April 09, 2005, 07:06 AM »
I am trying to find the stream address for an embedded player. I can find the full url (its a winamp) on some embedded player sites but on this one I can get most of it except the port address (ie the last four digit number). Can anyone assist or explain a better way/software which will show me the whole url.

it's hard to help without detailed info about the stream.
what i can tell you though is that the forum here:
http://p084.ezboard.com/bstreemeboxvcr

has some real experts at finding streams and recording them, so your best bet is to post there with some info about how to listen to the stream; with that info someone should be able to help.

ok maybe another way is how can I create and search 9999 winamps very quicky to find the working stream. I have the
http://999.999.99.99:xxxx/;stream.nsv (where I know what the 9 numbers refer to but not the xxxx) Thus I knwo it all but the port number. Sites use a variable port address to make it harder to crack them but I'm hoping there is a quick way round this. I don't fancy putting thousands in my bookmark list and checking them all each time.

There is a program called "Offline Explorer" that has a nice way of telling it numeric ranges like this and then it tries to download them all; it might not be able to download the stream for you but maybe it can find it for you.
