Mapping websites

(1/3) > >>

moerl:
I'm looking for a tool, web-based or not, that will take a URL and then generate a visual, tree-like/mindmap-like visual representation of the site's hierarchical structure.
Here's quick update.. it doesn't have to be purely visual. If it can give me a nicely laid out directory listing or hierarchical outline type auto-generated site-map, that's cool too :)

Ideas?

Darwin:
I've no idea (some might even say clueless) but it sounds very interesting and would be a useful addition to the software arsenal.

hi, this is my first post :)

i recently found this: Dapper: The Data Mapper
it lets you map data from website into xml, rss feeds, make netvibes/igoogle/etc module, flash widget
note it currently does not support ajax rich site, but they said it will be supported in the future

Dapper isn't really a mapping program in the same sense as the original request, but it's a very interesting and polished service.  Watch the screencast to see what it does: http://www.dapper.net/dapperDemo/

Basically it will let you tell it how to extract data from a website and create new feeds from it, in various formats.  Some very slick ajax stuff going on here.  Nice find, Keynell.
