IdeaMason to be featured on Bitsdujour
« on: April 25, 2007, 09:32 AM »
Haven't tried IdeaMason, but it looks interesting as a research tool and possibly as an expensive notetaker and will be available on BitsduJour on Monday April 30th.

I'll give the trial a blast and report back here before then...

I was looking at that this morning as well. I am interested in hearing what you think of it after your trial.

Can't warm to it. It's pretty snazzy looking (technical term in GUI circles  :P) and very fully featured BUT I'm already running Endnote X, NetSnippets, Evernote 2 Plus, TexNotes Pro... Do I need this? I think not... I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't been able to work up enough enthusiasm to put it through its paces  Not that anything I've seen is negative, just can't see the point of it for me and that's a motivation killer for me. Unless bitsdujour is going to be offering something well north of a 50% discount I can't see myself becoming interested, either, but I'll defer to others who may be more diligent about giving it a spin (nudge superboyac?).

I tried it and found it slow to the point of being annoying on my machine (see sig for details).

Bits du Jour has it today (April 30) for 40% off any of the licences that are available (e.g. academic licence is a hair over $40, down from $69). I'm not going to be jumping on this one, but thought I'd let everyone know!
