Wow! starts up fine! I'll test it now. If you don't mind, what was wrong? a bug for SP 2 or something I could have done to avoid it?

The truth is I have no idea why you were getting that error, which is a pretty extreme one. The new version was rebuilt to address a different issue but also include a new version of winpcap, the network sniffing driver that it uses, so perhaps the error was in winpcap and has been solved in the latest version of winpcap.

Error saving packet C:\Program files\URL Snooper2\workingdir\PacketFile2.dat appears when I try to run Network adaptor now.

sounds like it doesnt have permission to write the file -
exit the program and try to go delete that file manually, then restart.
