Well... I just tested kernel.org and got bad results (something around 100kb/s).
From darkstar which is my university's mirror, i get something around 600kb/s with opera.
I also get itunes from apple's server at 600kb/s. (notice that i HATE itunes, i just chose it because it was the first large download that came to mind)

~430kb/s grabbing arch-0.7.2.iso from darkstar - not bad :). I guess kernel.org is having a bad day, I usually get good speeds from there...
