IDEA: Syslog Pop-ups
« on: February 13, 2007, 02:32 PM »
Can anyone make a program that act as a syslog daemon which pops up the syslog it receives? I think the pop up can be like windows live messenger's pop-up and or Gmail notifier's pop-up.

Thanks in advance

No. I couldn't find anything. Many software can log the syslog, but they can't pop it up.:(

:tellme: What syslog are you using? If it uses regular listviews or something, it should be no problem to watch the window and show the new lines.

I am using a Netgear DG834G router. Its like you rarely gets stuff from syslog. I don't want to check the log every minute or so. I open port 80. Its like I want to get informed if someone connects to any computer inside my network.
