I ran into the same popup getting a file from FileFront a day or two after uploading the PC2 and realized that unless your going to be a FileFront member it will annoy you to death, so I will have to find a new location that DOESN'T bug people ;D
Sorry for the inconvenience everyone,
-Brandon

Talk to mouser. I am sure he would be willing to give you some space for a page for the game.

If not, I would be willing to, but I am sure he would, so ask him.

Hi everyone,
As I know FileFront is NOT the best place to upload files for distribution, but it was a temporary setup and mouser has very kindly offered to setup a webpage for Maze Craze so that it will be easier for everyone. I have (just) tested my AHK Maze Craze updater script and it does work, so it should be working and able to update so everyone doesn't have to go searching the forums/webpage.
Currently I am not working on anything but new levels, a level "creator" for people wanting to make levels and give them to me to implement them, and minimum system requirements (the new part of the readme).

Just an update for everyone,

Here is what is planned for the upcoming version/what I am working on:

First of all I am working on new levels and am hoping to have at least 50 total single player and 25 two player by the next release.

Second of all I am working on getting the website for Maze Craze up and ready, and if all goes well (I am learning how to use FTP as far as uploading) the new release will be housed there.

Third, I am finishing the updater for Maze Craze so every 2 weeks (or hopefully less) you just run it and download the new version.

Finally I need some help from anyone who knows how to configure Game Maker to only allow one of an object in a room at a time (this is for the new special feature, and is a large portion of the new release - the feature works with the exception of this problem).

The next version, 2.1, should be done in about a week.
In the meantime enjoy Maze Craze 2.0! :)

GREAT NEWS EVERYONE!
Mouser has setup the site for me and I was able to upload the new Maze Craze 2.0.exe to the server! You can get it here: http://mazecraze.dci...ze%20Craze%202.0.exe
A big thanks to mouser, as well as everyone who is helping and even playing the game. I highly doubt I would have gotten this far without you! :)
-Brandon

---Edit---
You can now go to the home page of Maze Craze here: http://mazecraze.dcisv.com/

P.S.: Just to let everyone know, I am working on lots of new levels for MC as well as the updater (almost done, just have to finish the link in the AHK script).

CONGRATULATIONS!
 :beerchug:

Hey it's actually quite fun now!  The control scheme works quite well now -- it's challenging enough that in the later levels you really have to use some skill to move around without bashing into things and dying.  Well done!!

Hey everyone-
I would like to let everyone know that I have made the Level Creation Template so people can make their own levels with anything as simple as Microsoft Paint. Included in this post I have attached the template as well as a screenshot of Level 1 just to give you ideas. The template has the game window in the size required, so don't worry about resizing it. If you would like, you may resize the window to 1024x768, as I plan to make levels 25+ in that resolution. All levels will be included (unless there is some type of error, then I will PM you to let you know that i had to alter it but it was included). I WILL have the creators name in the window's title bar, and I am not going to take credit for any level ideas. If there is an object you would like to see added to the game, let me know! I want to get 100 levels in this game before I *finalize* it, and I certainly need more objects and ideas to get me that far.
Thanks everyone,
-Brandon

Keep playing, as long as the cops don't show up...if they do you'll end up in a big white padded room trying to explain it to them ;D

Well, I am back to work on the site some more this weekend here, I have updated the buttons to be dial-up friendly as well as attractive, and will be updating most/all graphics in the near future.

As most will notice, I have edited the poll. I badly need everyone to report on their default screen resolution, as I intend on making the levels larger and need to know what I have to limit them to. I don't want you to play to level 50 and realize that the game crashed because you are in 1024x768 and Maze Craze increased to 1280x1024 :P.
Thanks in advance for your input!

OK, the site has been updated (no visible end-user effect), and I have gotten the updater working!
Please note that it has only been tested with the Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.3 browser, available at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
The updater is only 210kb and simply opens the Maze Craze latest version on the site (for a download prompt), hits Enter (as far as I know, that says OK to the download prompt to Save To Disk), then closes itself. It is attached and I hope everyone finds it useful. If there are bugs/an IE/Opera/other browser version is requested, please let me know!

Just an FYI for everyone, I will not be able to do anything for the next couple days because I am reformatting my hard drive and I am starting over with the ORIGINAL Windows XP (so I have to get every single patch >:(). I should be back up and running fully by Thursday, no promises though ;D

OK, I am happy to report that I am back up and running, better then ever! I took a quick look at the poll and I now know that I cannot have Maze Craze levels exceeding the 1024x768 resolution. I am still working on levels, and the new feature that I am adding I need to work on more before it is used (it makes several of something that there should only be one of :tellme: :o).
I will have the latest version (beta 2 of 2.1) ready for download from the site or updater as promised (in my sig) by/on the 18th. It doesn't really need to be tested (unless you want to check the levels for flaws) but I want to keep the release date and not keep pushing it back farther and farther so people don't know whats changed.

OK quick update...
I know I missed my release date :( and I am REALLY sorry about that everyone, just got caught up in a field trip, migraine, busyness and other things and I didn't remember until about 12:30AM my time (it is now 1:20AM). I have updated MC after having to download Game Maker and Core FTP LE again, but now I still have to get Nvu and then upload the game to the site. I am once again REALLY sorry, but it will be uploaded today (but I have to get some shut-eye first...I am in bad shape).

dont wear yourself out, in my experience any computer program on time, on budget that actually works is so rare as to be virtually non-existant, i'm sure the crazed mazers can wait a day or 2
