office 2003
« on: January 30, 2007, 04:20 AM »
With Office 2007 coming out, I am doing the sensible thing and (maybe) buying Office 2003. ;D

Here's my problem: I have Office 2002 Professional (with Access) already on my system. If I buy and install Office 2003 Standard (without Access), will I lose the Office applications (Access) that are already on my system that the Standard version doesn't have?

If it is a problem, can I solve it by installing to a different folder, or will this cause more problems? :(

Advice please, quick, before I spend my money.....

You can choose not to uninstall previous versions, but this will leave you with two versions of office installed.

Thanks for the reply.

So is it possible to just install parts of Office 2003? (It's Outlook2003 I need, to be compatible with some addins, without the ribbon that comes with Word etc appearing).

PS Anybody else think the ribbon system is too big for a small screen?

Yes, You can install each application in office 2003 individually. Simply choose a custom install.
