Hey, very nice  :)

e.g.
- imagine an shot of an grey colored window
- first add an 8 pix white border outside
- than add an 4 pix red one (outside)
- than add shadow ....

... Great ! Many thanks  :up:

new version up
v1.01.32 - 8/18/05
added info messages to tell user they need to select a region before some tools
eliminated annoying slowness and flicker when selecting multiple files in file browser
save-all hotkey changed from Ctrl+A to Ctrl+E to avoid browser select-all conflict
removed flicker on file loading
added resize toolbar button
added options to resize, including toggle for expanding canvas

stefan, i think i will add a new dialog with next version that is like an all-in-one border thing, where you can set 2 borders and a custom shadow, like what you are suggesting, for people to make like custom frame appearance without having to go to the options.

Thanks mouser.

> including toggle for expanding canvas

After a few trials i figured out how it works the way i suggest
(i must deselect "Prev. Ratio" and increase only the direction i want)

i could live with this behaviour, but...
sorry, thats not easy and nifty.

I say it again, and if you don't see the need, pls forget this, iam not cross.

I suggest an special area for resize the canvas in the resize dialog box
(or better an extra dialog box with an extra button)

I imagine something like this:

Unit: [ 12]   ( ) pixel / (x) %
(x) Top
( ) Bottom
( ) Left
(x) Right
( ) All
[  ] Color

would give me an new 12% bigger area on the top and on the right side of my picture.

Right now that works too, but it's not so easy to understand.
Iam think my layout is more clear ( IMHO ! )
If you mean it's enought right now, it should be OK too.

Did i suggest this ? :)
You mean instead of the "macro" thing ?
('cus the post above was only an example what we can do with borders)

OK, if this is not so many work for you, why not? :)
What did you plan for layout an functions ?

ok let me think about improving resize - you are probably right about it being clearer if there was another dialog.
only one question, in your dialog if i say 20 pixels, and check left and right, does it add 20 pixels to left and 20 pixels to right? or 10+10?

ah i see you were meaning a macro for the border stuff - maybe a macro would be easier.. i will think about it.

No mathematics please  :)
WYSIWYG
If i wrote 20 and left and right
i mean 20 left and 20 right  :)

I know we could see this differently,
but iam no programmer, more an normal user,
so for me is it clear to wrote 10 if i want 10
and not wrote 20 and to divide into several sides (sorry, i have no better english words)

You say already it's to much work.
Please don't hurry. It'S OK so too. I think on exe-size and memory footprint too.

My conception was
- you wrote the settings i make in the preferences into the INI, right?
- could we store this items in an [macro] section, too
- collect the next settings to this section too
- and even more settings...
- and execute this section with an button ?

[macro]
[set1]
BorderColorPickCombo.ActiveColor=0
BorderWidthEdit.Value=8
#
BorderColorPickCombo.ActiveColor=4
BorderWidthEdit.Value=3
#
ShadowOffsetXEdit.Value=4
ShadowOffsetYEdit.Value=4
ShadowRadiusEdit.Value=5
[/set1]
[set2]
CapBlurCheckBox.Checked="true"
DropShadowCheckBox.Checked="true"
[/set2]

To stupid, yes  :(

you are right about adding pixels to border - i will try to make a better dialog.  i see your point exactly.

i will give some more thought to macros - i could add them, i just wonder how much use they would get in a program like this, probably not much.

Why not ?

One use for a serie of shots always
- blur the back ground
- resize
- add an border
- add an shadow
- save as... .JPG

an other idea btw: maybe we could just select a few "thumpnails"
and add the effects we make on all selected
rather than only on the current in the main view.

Is this easier for you ?
