EarthWatcher: to know where the sun is shining now, look at your desktop!

(1/1)

jgpaiva:
Through snapfiles, i just found EarthWatcher.

This is a program that allows you to have real time images of the earth, as your wallpaper.

EarthWatcher uses two satellite images to create a map of the Earth on your desktop, that displays the areas of the globe where the sun is shining. You can set the interval to update the image, have it display the sun at zenith, save the image to a file and more. Makes a nice, dynamic wallpaper.

I must say this is a pretty good program. I've been using it since this morning, and it's pretty sweet to see the world change in your wallpaper.
It looks specially sweet in my widescreen monitor :D

PS: I forgot to mention this program is freeware :)

Deozaan:
This has been my desktop background and screen saver ever since I read this post in early March. It's neat.

I don't know how scientifically accurate it is, but it's still cool.

TucknDar:
Yes, I use it too! It's awesome! Would be even better with "grids" indicating time-zones, but I guess I *could* do that myself.

probably won't do that, though :-[
