CodeIDE: the online IDE that works in your browser
« on: January 15, 2007, 04:43 PM »
CodeIDE is an online IDE that works with BASIC, Pascal, C++, Perl, Javascript, HTML, and LISP.

Registered users can chat online and save programs on the service.

There is also a wiki to help you learn programming, and a forum for discussions.

Wow that's pretty nice! Would be good for people new to programming and wanting to get into dev fast with downloading any compilers, or software.. etc. Still, nothing close to having your own setup/evn for coding or learning to code :>

alonweiss just joined this forum today and the post about CodeRun IDE is their first post. This is a thread that is more than a year old.

Within minutes of alonweiss's post being made, someone posted a comment on my blog linking to the same site (coderun.com), on my blog post about CodeIDE, which is also more than 1 year old.

It seems someone may be doing a search for anything mentioning CodeIDE and commenting by linking to coderun.com.

The coincidences are just a bit too unbelievable for me to think otherwise. So, alonweiss may be a spammer affiliated with coderun.com.

I just thought everyone should be aware of this.

Sorry app, I didn't realize the original post was so old! Good research/findings on the poster, this is not a place to be advertising things! :P

This is a thread that is more than a year old.

January 2007 was over 2 years ago. :o Time sure flies!

Somehow I missed this topic back then, so I'm curious if CodeIDE is any good. I'll be checking it out.

Well, CodeIDE locked up Firefox entirely when I tried to load a file.

So I took a quick look at CodeRun and it appears to be specifically for creating Facebook apps with C#. I don't know anything about C# and I don't intend to make any Facebook apps, so CodeRun is not for me.

I do C# every day, so it's vaguely interesting. I had already opened the page in a new tab before I saw the spam warning, so I looked a little deeper.

Be warned: CodeRun may not make you download software, but it's a service charging $30 per month.
