a*sniffer - an auto saving sniffer for windows and linux

(1/1)

tinyvillager:
assniffer -(sorry that's what it's called) an auto saving sniffer for windows and linux

http://www.cockos.com/assniffer/
From the guy who apparently started Winamp and nullsoft,i don't know the whole story,anyway...
It requires WinPCap.I dig it,leave it running and it will cache everthing transfered through your computer,
very useful for using Firefox since the cache is all (encrypted?)or something, anyone know how to
read Firefox's cache let me know, any how...
Quote for website...

assniffer can monitor (using winpcap or pcap) a network, and for every HTTP
transfer it sees, save a copy of the transferred data.
This is less for sinister uses, and more for taking advantage of the
already-transferred data that your computer may be exposed to.
Windows users should first download and install winpcap.
Linux users should install libpcap, and tools to enable compiling.

mouser:
that's quite cool..
i use winpcap in my url snooper program - it's very fast but i'd still be hesitant to have it running all the time, just because of the cpu and memory resources it would need.
