Didn't App make a Firefox plugin that searched this site using Google? (Where'd that thread go? I can't find it.) Why not just replace the SMF search to use the Google search code?

on the search page you can choose to use google; but google does not index instantly and there can be a real delay between a post on the forum and the time google indexes it.

I couldn't find it either, which means it doesn't exist
Notice that the post might have been misinterpreted and deleted since it would look like a dupe on bitsdujour (yep, a little too far-feched, but at least gives some comfort to mouser for the search not finding it )
